From the Highroad Cross Site of Grace in Scadu Altus, follow the northern route to Shadow Keep, take the entrance elevator, and defeat the Golden Hippopotamus beyond the Main Gate Site of Grace. From Main Gate Plaza, continue west and climb to the ramparts; the southern descent opens a shortcut back to the plaza, while the northern route leads to the Fire Knight-guarded lift for the Specimen Storehouse.
How to reach Shadow Keep’s Main Gate
- Start at Highroad Cross. From the Highroad Cross Site of Grace in Scadu Altus, follow the road north toward Shadow Keep. The approach passes an enemy encampment and a Furnace Golem. You can fight through the encampment or maneuver around it.
- Enter the keep and take the elevator. Go through the main entrance and ride the elevator up. Activate the Shadow Keep Main Gate Site of Grace before proceeding through the next doorway.
Defeat the Golden Hippopotamus
The Golden Hippopotamus waits in the plaza beyond the grace and blocks the route onward. Defeat it, then activate the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace so you have a nearby checkpoint.

Go west from Main Gate Plaza
Leave the plaza to the west and continue through the rooms and stairs toward the main ramparts. A garden beside the stairs is an optional detour. At the foot of its large golden tree, you can find the Talisman of Lord’s Bestowal.

Open the shortcut, then continue to the Storehouse
From the main ramparts, take the descending route to the south. It opens a door back to Main Gate Plaza, creating a shortcut between the plaza and the ramparts.
For the main progression route, return to the ramparts and head north. Cross to the lift guarded by a Fire Knight and ride it to the Specimen Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace.

Shadow Keep is a Legacy Dungeon in Scadu Altus, in the Realm of Shadow. Use the Main Gate approach if you want the route through the Golden Hippopotamus and onward toward the main Storehouse progression; the eastern Church District entrance serves a different section.
