Shido’s Palace is a ship where VIP introduction letters unlock progress through the major areas and toward the Treasure route. Follow the letter objectives for the main story; treat lockpicks, chests, and—if you’re playing Persona 5 Royal—Will Seeds as optional diversions. Royal’s Will Seeds and the original Persona 5 route are not interchangeable.
Before you start: edition, supplies, and levels
This walkthrough covers the shared ship-Palace progression at a high level. The optional Will Seeds are exclusive to Persona 5 Royal. The available route descriptions do not provide enough detail to safely give every room transition or switch sequence, so use the ship’s named areas and in-game landmarks rather than relying on an unverified turn-by-turn map.

- Lockpicks: One general Palace guide lists three as preparation for its route. They help with locked chests; they are not established as a requirement for the story objective.
- Level: A general guide recommends level 60 for the Palace, while a separate Japanese guide recommends level 63 or higher for the final boss. These are guide recommendations, not mandatory thresholds.
- Calendar: One Japanese walkthrough identifies November 24 as the first infiltration date, but another guide gives different schedule context. Do not treat that date as universal across editions or schedules.
How to get through Shido’s ship
Investigate the ship and begin collecting letters
The opening visit starts with an encounter and investigation before you move through the central passage toward the first letter objectives. One Japanese walkthrough describes entering the front hall, fighting a guard, reaching the third floor, and meeting companions investigating the area. Use those as opening landmarks, then follow the current objective markers and conversations; the date and exact schedule can vary by guide context.
Use the VIP letters to open the route
Collect the required VIP introduction letters as you work through the ship. They gate access to the next story areas, so prioritize each letter objective over optional chests or collectibles when you want the shortest route to the Treasure.

Work through the named areas
The broad route includes the Restaurant, Pool Deck, Entertainment Hall, Side Deck, Target Room, and Engine Room before advancing toward the Treasure route. Treat these as the route’s major waypoints, not a complete floor-by-floor order: the available guide excerpts do not establish every transition between them. At each area, check the objective, speak with relevant characters, and follow the letter-related progression.
Locked doors, switches, and the mouse-and-duct puzzle
Some ship sections use switches and ducts to connect otherwise separated corridors. The mouse-form mechanic changes which spaces you can cross, so solve each local obstacle by identifying the switch or passage that opens the next reachable section. Avoid assuming that a switch order from a different room or route applies here.

Lower Port Hallway: main route and optional detour
In the Lower Port Hallway, a Royal route description sends you through the southwest corridor, operating switches and using ducts to move between separated sections. The route also describes an optional duct detour to the second Will Seed. If you take it, return to the main corridor after collecting the seed and resume the story route; the detour is not part of the required letter objective.
The available descriptions do not establish a complete switch-by-switch solution for every room. Use the local map and visible landmarks to confirm where a duct exits before committing to a detour.

Persona 5 Royal: Shido Palace Will Seeds
Persona 5 Royal has three optional Will Seeds in Shido’s Palace; the original Persona 5 does not have this Royal collectible route. A dedicated video guide marks the three seeds at 00:00, 01:06, and 03:12. The route description specifically places the second seed on an optional Lower Port duct detour. The available room directions do not reliably identify all three exact locations, so use the video’s timestamps or a complete Royal route reference for the remaining navigation rather than guessing at turns.
Will Seeds are separate from the VIP letters: collect them for the optional Royal collectible objective, but do not mistake them for story gates.

Prepare for the calling card and final Palace return
Before beginning the calling-card sequence, stock the items you want for the final Palace visit. A post-calling-card guide says the return for the boss happens that same night and specifically advises preparing beforehand. The level suggestions—60 for the Palace in one guide and 63 or higher for the final boss in another—are planning guidance, not guarantees of success.
The final stretch includes a preceding Black Mask encounter and a multi-part Shadow Shido fight. The available route excerpts do not establish a full phase-by-phase strategy, so no specific weakness, turn order, or damage threshold is reliable to promise here. Check your edition and difficulty and consult a complete encounter guide if you need exact battle tactics.
