The warning comes from an old rumor that John Doe and Jane Doe would hack Roblox users on that date. A 2025 explainer describes the claim as an urban legend and says March 18 poses no special risk compared with other days. That is a rebuttal of the date-specific rumor, not a promise that online play is risk-free.
Why do people say not to play Roblox on March 18?
The warning is tied to a story that John Doe and Jane Doe, names associated with Roblox accounts, would launch a coordinated attack on March 18. CyberPost traced the rumor to around 2017–2018 and described the accounts as internal test accounts rather than rogue hackers. That background comes from a secondary explainer, not a first-party Roblox statement independently verified here.
The rumor has circulated in community posts as a warning, sometimes in a joking or playful context. A post repeating it does not establish that a threat exists.
Will John Doe hack Roblox on March 18?
The date-specific claim is unsubstantiated. CyberPost’s May 27, 2025 explainer says the alleged coordinated threat has not materialized and that playing on March 18 carries no more risk than playing on another date. There is no evidence in the available sources that March 18 itself creates a special account or gameplay risk.

How to protect your Roblox account on any day
The sensible response is ordinary account security, not staying offline on a particular date. CyberPost recommends using a unique password, enabling two-factor authentication where available, avoiding suspicious links, and keeping personal information private. These precautions address everyday account risks; they are not special protection against a March 18 event.
