There is no longer an active choice to make: Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 ran from March 19 to June 5, 2026, so players cannot now select Team Foundation or Team Ice King. While the season was live, the best pick depended on which side you wanted to support and which winning outfit style you preferred—not on a proven gameplay advantage.
What did choosing a team change?
Epic presented Team Foundation and Team Ice King as a season-long rivalry. Epic staff said a player’s first login prompted the choice and warned that it could not be changed later. Team selection affected which new weapons were added during the season, while winning rivalries earned points for a side and Rival Credits for perks, weapons and XP.
Epic described Rivalry Gear machines as offering rewards such as Slap, Exotic weapons and a daily XP bundle. Its season launch announcement also named a refreshed loot pool that included the Vector 7 DMR, Ice King’s Gauntlets and the Chaos Reloader Shotgun. The available official details do not establish that either team was objectively stronger or better for every player.
How the two choices compared

Which team should you have picked?
- Choose by allegiance: Pick the character or side you most wanted to support.
- Choose by the possible reward: If one of the two final styles mattered more to you, support its associated team—but recognize that the team still had to win.
- Consider the lock-in: Epic said players could not swap sides after choosing. If you were uncomfortable committing, take time to decide before selecting.
- Do not choose based on assumed strength: Epic said team choice affected seasonal weapon additions, but the available information does not show a universal gameplay winner.
Can you still choose a team?
No. The season is over, and its team selection is no longer available in-game. Epic’s launch announcement was dated March 19, 2026; the June 5, 2026 end date is identified in official Epic search-result metadata.
