Donate the first copy of each mineral you still need for the Museum, keep any copy required for a bundle or a use you actually plan to pursue, and sell the rest. There is no one-size-fits-all reserve: the right choice depends on your Museum and bundle progress, recipes, gifts, and plans.
A quick keep-or-sell check
- Check the Museum. If a mineral has not been donated and Museum completion or its rewards matter to you, donate one copy first. The Museum has donation milestones, and mineral collection descriptions are tied to donation progress. See the Museum and Collections references.
- Check the Geologist’s Bundle. Keep a copy of Quartz, Earth Crystal, Frozen Tear, or Fire Quartz if you still need it for the bundle. Completing it awards five Omni Geodes. The Bundles page lists its requirements.
- Check that mineral’s uses. Look up its individual entry before selling the last copy. Some minerals are used in recipes, gifts, trades, or fish pond requests; those uses vary by item.
- Sell copies beyond what you need. Once donation, bundle, and any planned uses are covered, selling surplus is a reasonable way to earn gold.

Donation and collection progress
Museum donations apply to mineral items, not unopened geodes. A geode must first be processed to reveal its contents; opening can produce minerals, artifacts, or resources. Donating 50 minerals awards a Crystalarium, and a Vault bundle is another documented source. Details are listed on the Crystalarium page.
Bundle requirements
The Geologist’s Bundle asks for Quartz, Earth Crystal, Frozen Tear, and Fire Quartz. If you have not completed it, keep the item you still need rather than selling your only available copy.
Recipes, gifts, and other uses
Minerals are not interchangeable. Marble, for example, is used to make a Marble Brazier. Diamond has listed uses that include the Ring of Yoba, Geode Crusher, and Fairy Dust, and it is a loved gift for multiple villagers. Its base sell price is 750g, according to the Minerals page; the Gemologist profession increases the listed sale value. Check the specific mineral’s Uses and gifting information for your own plans.

How to think about geode minerals
Many minerals found in geodes are mainly useful for Museum donations or for selling, but some also have tailoring or gift uses. The Wizard likes all geode minerals. Check each item’s entry instead of treating every geode find as disposable.
Opening a geode is a separate decision from selling a mineral. Clint charges 25g per geode processed, while an available Geode Crusher processes geodes without that fee. The mineral reference documents both options. Since geodes can contain artifacts and resources as well as minerals, an unopened geode is not equivalent to a mineral you have already inspected.
When a Crystalarium changes the decision
A Crystalarium can replicate gems and many minerals, which can make a later gift or trade easier to supply. It does not mean every mineral is reproducible, nor does it erase a Museum or bundle need. Check the item’s entry and your own progress before selling a last copy; the Crystalarium reference explains its role and acquisition sources.

- Progression: Do you still need this item for a Museum donation or bundle?
- Function: Is it required for a recipe, trade, gift, fish pond request, or another plan?
- Replacement: Can you readily obtain or reproduce another copy?
- Gold: Is the listed sale price worth more to you than keeping it for a possible use?
- Preference: Are you saving it for a personal collection or display?
If none of the practical or personal reasons to keep it apply, sell the duplicate. Item values and uses differ, so consult the specific entry and check the current state of your save before parting with a last copy.
