Is Silent Hill 1 getting a remake?
Yes. Bloober Team announced that a remake of Silent Hill is in development on June 12, 2025. The studio’s announcement says: “We are thrilled to announce that a SILENT HILL remake project is in the works at Bloober Team, developed in close cooperation with our friends from Konami!” Bloober Team’s announcement video identifies the project, but does not provide a launch window or other detailed specifications.

Konami’s Konami Group Report 2026 offers a later status confirmation: “We are also working on a remake of the first game in the SILENT HILL series as well as a new title, SILENT HILL: Townfall.” This establishes that Konami described the remake as in progress when the report was published.
Who is making the Silent Hill remake?
Bloober Team is developing the remake in close cooperation with Konami, according to Bloober’s official announcement. Konami’s 2026 report also confirms the company is working on the project.

In an October 2, 2025 report, TechRadar attributed remarks from Bloober CEO Piotr Babieno and Vice President Karolina Nowak to an investor call. The outlet reported that Bloober had two proprietary production teams, one working on Silent Hill 1 and the other on a second project. That is secondary reporting about team allocation, not a release schedule or platform announcement.
What is the original game being remade?
The project is a remake of the first game in the series, not Silent Hill 2 or another franchise entry. Konami’s official Silent Hill portal identifies the original Silent Hill as a PlayStation release from 1999. That is the source game; it is distinct from the remake currently in development.
