The flashlight is in different rooms depending on which version of Silent Hill 2 you’re playing: Apartment 202 in the 2024 remake, or Room 205 in the original game. Both are on the second floor of Wood Side Apartments.
2024 remake: Find the flashlight in Apartment 202
- Enter Wood Side Apartments and go up to the second floor.
- Follow the hall to the open apartment with light coming from inside: Apartment 202.
- Take the flashlight from the dress form. Picking it up triggers a Mannequin encounter, so be ready to deal with it.
- After the encounter, search the drawer behind the dress form for the Chute Courtyard Key.

Original game: Find the flashlight in Room 205
In the original Silent Hill 2, the flashlight is on the fashion dummy in Room 205, also on the second floor of Wood Side Apartments. Do not head to Apartment 202 expecting to find it there; that room-number route applies to the remake.
After collecting the flashlight in the original game, continue toward Room 208 to get the Key to Room 202. The original walkthrough then directs you to Room 202 for the Clock Key.
