Yes. SILENT HILL 2 launched on Xbox Series X|S on November 21, 2025, and is available now. The Xbox listing marks it as optimized for Series X|S and supports Xbox Play Anywhere. Check your local Xbox storefront for current prices and editions; the listing reviewed is for Mexico, so its prices are not a guide to other regions. KONAMI announced the Xbox launch on November 21, 2025, and the Xbox Mexico store listing gives the same release date.

What is included in the Xbox release?

This is the 2024 remake of KONAMI’s 2001 psychological horror game. James Sunderland travels to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife, hoping to see her again. KONAMI is the publisher, and Bloober Team SA is the developer, according to the Xbox listing.

The Xbox Mexico storefront lists the base game, a Deluxe Edition, and standard and Deluxe dual packs that include SILENT HILL f. It does not establish the full contents of the Deluxe Edition in the listing reviewed, so check the item details in your own store before paying for an upgrade. The listed dual packs identify their included games; local availability and pricing may differ.

The reviewed Xbox page is a digital storefront listing. KONAMI’s May 2024 preorder announcement discussed digital and physical editions for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, not an Xbox physical edition. Confirm directly with a local retailer if you specifically want a disc copy.

What changed in the remake?

KONAMI describes expanded explorable areas, an over-the-shoulder camera, revised combat, and added cut-scenes in its May 2024 announcement. The Xbox store also advertises larger environments, improved graphics and sound, ray tracing, and an updated combat system. Those are publisher and storefront descriptions, not independent performance or image-quality testing.

In a PlayStation Blog interview, producer Motoi Okamoto and creative director Mateusz Lenart said the remake keeps the central characters and their emotional arcs while changing some dialogue. The team used an all-new voice cast, shifted the camera perspective, and slightly altered puzzles. These choices distinguish the remake’s presentation and play from the 2001 version without replacing its central story.

Xbox features listed for the game

The Mexico Xbox listing identifies the game as optimized for Xbox Series X|S and lists Xbox Play Anywhere, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, variable refresh rate, ray tracing, spatial sound, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and more than 60 fps. These are storefront-listed features; availability or behavior can depend on the game, compatible hardware, display, audio equipment, and region. Consult the local store page for the specifications attached to your purchase.

KONAMI’s launch announcement also mentioned a discount at the time of the November 2025 release and cautioned that promotions varied by store. That was a historical launch promotion, not evidence of a current sale. Check the price shown in your regional Xbox store for today’s offer, if any.

Should you choose the remake or the original?

The remake retains the central story and character arcs, according to its developers, but changes how the story is presented and played: it uses an over-the-shoulder camera, revised combat, expanded areas, a new voice cast, and slightly altered puzzles. Whether those revisions work better for you is a matter of preference; the developers’ stated intent is not a guarantee that every player will prefer the changes. Okamoto described the goal in the PlayStation Blog interview as “This game is at its best, a remake with respect toward the original.”
