Konami announced Standard and Deluxe editions. The Deluxe preorder offer included a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, alternate Simon outfit, and 48-hour early access. The early-access offer was tied to preordering and should not be assumed to apply to purchases now.

In a July 30, 2026 PlayStation Blog interview, writer and director Jon McKellan said players have “multiple options to handle encounters” and can experiment to find an approach suited to each situation. The comment supports combat and evasion as options; it does not establish that the game is easy or that a difficulty menu exists.
What is the gameplay like?
Townfall is a first-person psychological horror game set on St. Amelia, a remote island off Scotland. Protagonist Simon Ordell uses the CRTV device to scout threats, look for clues, and explore. Konami and the developers describe narrative-driven puzzles alongside hiding, combat, and evasion. The June 2 PlayStation Blog post says some enemies call for combat while others require evasion; using the CRTV and moving carefully can help assess threats.

How many endings are there, and do you need another playthrough?
McKellan said player actions throughout a run shape the ending, rather than a single binary choice at the end. According to the developer, all three main endings can be reached during a first playthrough. A secret ending becomes accessible after completing the game once; the statement about reaching the three main endings on a first run does not apply to that secret ending.
