The studio has not announced what those tools will do or when they will arrive. Its October 9, 2026 statement draws a boundary around mods that bypass game systems to unlock paid cosmetics, expose gated or unreleased content, or profit from unauthorized assets.
What did the skate. developers say about mods?
In its October 9, 2026 update, Full Circle said, “We hear you loud and clear on wanting more freedom and custom features.” The studio described skateboarding as a community built around creative expression, and said San Vansterdam was designed as a sandbox where players can have fun and create content.

Full Circle says mods cross a line when they bypass game systems to unlock paid cosmetics, release gated or unreleased content, or make money from unauthorized assets. It says that kind of activity takes from artists, skate brands, creators, and the development team. That is the studio’s stated rationale and policy boundary; the update does not set out a general ban on all player-made content.
What official creation tools are coming?
Full Circle says it is building “official, secure access tools” for broader and deeper community creation, with more information to come when it is ready to share. The update does not list features, explain how access will work, or give a release window. It also does not promise unrestricted modding, so the scope of the tools remains unknown.

What is ReSkate, and why did it go viral?
ReSkate is a fan-made platform that PC Gamer reported can connect to a particular Steam version of skate. and enable offline play, custom servers, custom maps, and other assets. PC Gamer also reported that ReSkate does not interact with EA’s servers, and that its official channels prohibit mods that unlock premium cosmetics. Those are reported descriptions of the project, not independently verified technical findings.
PC Gamer reported more than 350,000 downloads in a few days, as of Tuesday in its October 2026 coverage. That is a time-specific figure reported by the publication—not an EA statistic, a count of unique or active players, or a current total. The coverage also described players wanting options such as choosing any shirt color rather than waiting for a rotating release; that was a quoted player reaction, not a representative survey.
