EA’s Season 5 announcement, published August 25, 2026, outlines new cosmetics, music, skate spots, tricks, and progression updates, alongside a free Standard skate.Pass track and paid Premium options. Some content was scheduled to arrive mid-season, so availability and purchase terms can change.
How customization works in Skate.
EA describes customization for both the skater and the board. Character options include clothing and footwear; board setup options include decks, grip tape, wheels, trucks, and stickers. Season 5 adds more character cosmetics and board setup items as skate.Pass rewards. These are in-game items, not a catalog of physical merchandise. EA’s official game page describes the game as free to play and links to digital storefronts.
The development team described self-expression as a design goal in a 2024 update: “Self-expression is what skateboarding’s all about, which is why we’re stoked to bring in as many character customization options as possible to skate.” The team’s 2024 update also characterized the soundtrack as something intended to evolve over time.
What Season 5 adds—and when
EA announced Season 5 on August 25, 2026, with the season beginning September 8. Its featured new area is Super Ultra Mega Resort (S.U.M.R.) Camp, including Camp Mega Park. The announcement also scheduled a new Hedgemont street park, Parry Point Park, for mid-season; other content was to roll out in stages. Consult EA’s Season 5 announcement for current rollout details, since the original schedule is not proof that every feature is now live.

Tricks, progression, and social play
The announced trick additions include 16 underflip variations and four footplant variants. EA also outlined updated progression, Bounties, Spotlight Challenges, and Block Parties. The company described Block Parties as social events for up to 150 players, rotating through connected locations; that is EA’s announced capacity, not an independent player-count test.
Season content is broader than cosmetics
Season 5 combines customization rewards with locations, tricks, progression changes, and events. A previous example is Season 3: EA’s 2025-era season page described Isle of Grom content, tattoos, new and returning apparel brands, and more than 20 new music tracks. Those are Season 3 details, not a guide to Season 5 access or rewards. EA’s Season 3 page provides the historical context.
