Historical event guide: Sky: Children of the Light’s AURORA Encore Concerts ran August 23–September 3, 2023. During the event, players could use the AURORA Spirit in Home to teleport to the Valley of Triumph Coliseum. A separate return, AURORA: Homecoming, ran June 9–22, 2025; neither event’s schedule should be treated as current. The official announcements reviewed do not establish a 2026 Encore or confirm access outside those event windows.
When did the AURORA Encore Concerts run?
Thatgamecompany’s August 17, 2023 patch notes set the Encore event window at August 23 through September 3, 2023. The listed times used CEST, with PDT conversions also provided in the notes.
What was the 2023 concert schedule?
The cadence changed partway through the event:
| Event dates | Concert cadence and listed start times |
|---|---|
| August 23–25, 2023 | Every eight hours: 3:00 pm, 11:00 pm and 7:00 am CEST. |
| August 26–September 3, 2023 | Every four hours, starting at 11:00 am CEST. |
These are historical CEST times. The 2023 patch notes also give PDT conversions; use the timezone labels in the official notes and convert carefully rather than treating the hours above as local time everywhere.
How did players get to the 2023 concert?
- Teleport from Home: Find the AURORA Spirit in Home and use its offer to teleport directly to the Coliseum. The official Thatgamecompany video description says the Spirit could be used when it was close to concert time.
- Join at the Coliseum: The same video named the Valley of Triumph Coliseum as a join point for the August 25 event.
- Watch the official stream: Thatgamecompany’s video description also mentioned a simultaneous stream on the company’s Twitch channel.
What was included in the 2023 Encore?
Event currency and cosmetics
The 2023 patch notes described five event currency available per day in the Coliseum: four pieces placed around the area and one for joining a pre-concert activity. They also listed a one-time 10-currency bonus after attending a first concert. The “Cure For Me” expression cost 12 event currency for level 1 and 33 for level 2. Musical Voyage Sneakers were listed at $6.99 USD in the in-game shop. These were edition-specific historical offerings, not evidence of current availability; original collaboration items were also scheduled to return during the event.

The patch notes stated that each Coliseum instance could hold up to 10,000 players. That is an instance capacity, not a verified attendance total. Players placed in an instance separate from AURORA were warned they would not see her during the August 26 live appearance. The August 25 event was described as an attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for most users in a concert-themed virtual world, but the official sources cited here do not establish a final adjudicated count or result.
How was the 2025 AURORA: Homecoming different?
Homecoming was a distinct later return, not an extension of the 2023 Encore. The official AURORA event page lists its dates as June 9–22, 2025. Thatgamecompany’s May 29, 2025 patch notes describe a different schedule and access setup:
| Details | 2023 Encore | 2025 Homecoming |
|---|---|---|
| Event window | August 23–September 3, 2023 | June 9–22, 2025 |
| Teleport access | AURORA Spirit in Home | AURORA Spirit in Home and Aviary Village |
| Concert cadence | Every eight hours August 23–25; every four hours August 26–September 3 | Original full concert every two hours |
| Additional activities | Pre-concert activity and event currency | Crab races, minigames and a meditation room |
| Special date details | August 25 event and August 26 live appearance were noted | June 14 livestreams at 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM US PDT; community gatherings at 8:00 and 20:00 PDT |
| Returning items | Original collaboration items returned; the 2023 notes list edition-specific offers | Previous AURORA-themed items returned to the shop; some outfit items and a dance expression were available from the Spirit. Specific prices are not stated in the cited 2025 notes. |
The 2025 times above are the official page’s listed livestream times and the patch notes’ community gathering times, all in PDT. They are historical details, not a current timetable.
