What is Ronin Forge?
Sky Mavis introduced Ronin Forge on June 6, 2024, as an early-access program for Web3 game studios building and launching on Ronin. The initial offer included grants of up to $50,000 in RON, publishing tools and ecosystem resources, possible mentorship, help with integrations such as Ronin Wallet, Katana DEX and Mavis Market, and access to the Ronin community. The program page described further investment or support as something Sky Mavis might consider if a game gained traction—not a promised follow-on investment. Ronin’s program announcement said it sought teams with playable beta games and a three-to-six-month path to global launch.
The June page said the initial target was six teams; the September cohort announcement named seven successful applicants. The sources do not explain the difference. An October 7, 2024 edit to the original page said its previous Typeform application was no longer accepting applications, which does not establish the status of any later program.
Who are the seven studios, and what are they making?
The cohort spans several formats rather than a single genre. The table summarizes how Ronin described each project in September 2024, including the announced access format and digital-ownership or blockchain angle where stated.

Ronin presented the range—from MMORPGs and creature-collection games to a shooter, simulation game and party-game universe—as varied Web3 experiences for its ecosystem. The announcement describes what the projects were intended to be; it does not establish their current availability or whether planned releases took place. What did the studios receive?
For the seven selected applicants, the September announcement specified a $50,000 USD grant in RON apiece and access to build on Ronin. This cohort-specific amount is distinct from the June program page’s broader description of grants of “up to” $50,000 in RON. The program also described publishing resources and possible support with ecosystem integrations; it did not say that every studio received every form of mentorship or integration assistance.

Sky Mavis’s September publishing article said it looked for four traits in partner games: quality, readiness, playability and ambition. It connected those criteria to an engaging game loop, a playable or near-launch build, attention to retention and player feedback, plans for long-term scaling, and alignment with the community. These were the company’s stated selection criteria, not an independent assessment of the seven projects. Ronin’s publishing article also gave examples from other games, not from the Forge cohort: Forgotten Runiverse’s open beta was credited with 967,000 active wallets and 1.4 million hours played over 13 days, while Lumiterra’s closed beta was credited with more than 14 million transactions and 80% D7 retention. Those publisher-reported case-study figures should not be read as results for the seven Forge projects.

Forge offered studios a route into Ronin’s game ecosystem, with publishing resources, community access and potential integrations alongside the grant. In its July 29, 2024 H1 recap, Sky Mavis reported that Ronin had reached an all-time high of 1.5 million daily active addresses and that Ronin Wallet had more than 3 million downloads in six months. These are historical, company-reported figures: wallet downloads are not active users, and neither metric describes the present network or proves outcomes for Forge games. The sources establish the program and cohort as announced in 2024. They do not establish which games can be played now, whether every planned release occurred, the present status of Ronin Forge, or eligibility for any successor program.
