Yes—The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9, 2025. Bethesda lists it at US$59.99 for new buyers, offers a US$19.99 upgrade for owners of Skyrim on Switch, and says owners of Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Switch can download the Switch 2 edition for free. These are Bethesda’s listed U.S. prices; check the eShop for your region’s current price.
Which Skyrim edition is on Switch 2?
The Switch 2 release is Skyrim Anniversary Edition, not Skyrim Special Edition. Bethesda says the existing Switch version of Special Edition can be played on Switch 2, but it does not receive the Anniversary Edition content or enhancements. Bethesda Support explains the edition distinction.
This is another platform release of the same long-running game, not a new Skyrim entry. The Switch 2 edition includes the base game, the Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire expansions, plus hundreds of Creation Club items, including quests, weapons, armor, spells, and dungeons. Bethesda’s December 9, 2025 announcement also lists three digital Zelda-inspired in-game items: the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic.

Bethesda’s announcement was updated to confirm a physical code-in-box version. That format is not the same as a cartridge: Bethesda identifies it as a code-in-box release.
