One independent role-specific guide recommends Ice Manipulation for safer solo PvE, Explosive Blood for boss burst, and Shockwave for PvP, with Tamari as a ranged alternative. Those are guide judgments, not official balance rankings, and other guides use different names and rankings.
Which Demon Art fits your playstyle?
Choose around the activity you do most and how reliably you can land and recover from abilities. The recommendations below come from an independent comparison guide; they are not developer tier data or measured damage results.
| Goal | Suggested art | Why the guide recommends it | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo quests and learning bosses | Ice Manipulation | Its freeze and control can create safer opportunities to deal damage. | The guide also names Shockwave as a more aggressive option. The recommendation is qualitative, not an official ranking. |
| Boss damage during openings | Explosive Blood | The guide recommends it for burst during vulnerability or stagger windows. | Using burst at the wrong time can leave you exposed during recovery. |
| Coordinated boss groups | Dream Manipulation | The guide describes its debuff and team utility as useful when playing with a coordinated group. | This is a qualitative fan-guide assessment; no measured team-damage result is provided. |
| PvP duels | Shockwave; Tamari as a ranged alternative | The guide points to Shockwave for stagger pressure and Tamari for ranged poke. | Movement, baiting, matchup and connection quality can change which kit performs better. |
How to compare the options for your activity
A September 13, 2026 guide recommends weighing PvE, PvP, boss damage and execution difficulty rather than treating one overall ranking as decisive. Apply those criteria to the way you actually play:
- Mode: Separate solo quests, group or boss PvE, and duels. A kit that helps a group may not be the safest choice alone.
- Range and hit confirmation: Consider whether you can land abilities consistently at the distance and pace your activity demands.
- Control and mobility: Freeze or stagger pressure can create openings, while movement and spacing matter especially in duels.
- Cooldown timing and recovery: Look at when an ability is available and whether its recovery leaves you vulnerable if it misses or the target is not ready.
- Execution difficulty: A theoretical advantage is less useful if you cannot reliably create the situation it depends on.
The same September guide cautions that a PvE-first ordering does not necessarily predict PvP results. In duels, movement, baiting, matchup and connection quality all affect the outcome.

Why Demon Art names and rankings differ
Guides do not use a consistent roster vocabulary. One comparison lists Ice Manipulation, Shockwave, Dream Manipulation, Tamari and Explosive Blood as standard Demon Arts, while treating Reaper as a separate Evil Art. Other guides use names such as Cryokinesis, Blood Sickles, Destructive Death, Combustible Blood, Obi and Arrow. The available comparisons do not establish which labels are current in-game names or whether each pair refers to the same kit.
Do not assume two differently named abilities are identical, or that a guide’s roster reflects the current game. Check the live in-game skill descriptions before choosing an art or committing resources, particularly after an update. The consulted sources provide qualitative evaluations, not official patch information, developer endorsements, or numerical damage comparisons.

What the recommendations do—and do not—establish
The role-specific guide offers a practical starting point: Ice Manipulation for safer solo PvE, Explosive Blood for boss burst, Dream Manipulation for coordinated boss utility, and Shockwave or Tamari for different PvP approaches. Other fan guides disagree about labels and relative rankings, so these should be treated as options to evaluate, not a universal tier list. Your activity, execution and the game’s current balance can change the best fit.
