The official Sleeping Dogs – Launch Trailer is a 2012 introduction to an open-world crime drama set in Hong Kong. It follows undercover police officer Wei Shen as he infiltrates the Triads, and previews martial arts combat, gunfights, street races and takedowns that use the environment. Those are the original game’s launch-trailer highlights—not footage identified as the 2014 Definitive Edition.

Its description frames the game as a gritty open-world cop drama in which Wei Shen must work inside a criminal organization while remaining a police officer. What the gameplay is about
The central gameplay contrast is between undercover police work and life inside the Triads. Official descriptions emphasize several action styles rather than presenting the game as a single-mechanic brawler or shooter.
Close-quarters combat and environmental takedowns
Martial arts combat is a key part of the trailer’s pitch. It also highlights using objects in the surroundings for cinematic takedowns, making the environment part of the fights. Is this the Definitive Edition trailer?
No. The linked video is Square Enix UK’s 2012 launch trailer for Sleeping Dogs. The Definitive Edition is a later, remastered release from 2014. The official PlayStation Blog described that edition as remastered for PS4, while the PlayStation product page says it includes all 24 previously available DLC extensions, including Year of the Snake and Nightmare in North Point.
