SMITE 2 does not bring over most SMITE 1 skins. Hi-Rez lists Season 11 skins and a limited number of other cross-gen skins as direct-transfer exceptions, but it has not published an official count confirming the headline’s “1,600” figure. Legacy Gems and Divine Legacy rewards offer other ways to benefit from SMITE 1 play, but neither restores a player’s entire old collection.
Do SMITE 1 skins transfer to SMITE 2?
Only some do. Hi-Rez’s SMITE 2 FAQ says most SMITE 1 content will not directly transfer. It identifies skins added in Season 11 and a limited number of other cross-gen skins as exceptions; owning a SMITE 1 skin does not, by itself, mean it will be available in SMITE 2.
The FAQ does not give a total for skins left behind, so “1,600” is not verified as an official count. The supported takeaway is the broader rule: most content does not transfer directly, with specified exceptions.
What do Legacy Gems and Divine Legacy provide?
These are separate benefits from direct skin transfers. A transferred skin is usable in SMITE 2 under the cross-gen rules; Legacy Gems provide a discount on eligible purchases, while Divine Legacy offers selected rewards tied to past play.

Legacy Gems are a discount, not a collection transfer
Hi-Rez says Legacy Gems can pay for 50% of the price of most SMITE 2 purchases, including skins, Battle Passes and events. That means players generally still need another payment method for the remaining half. The FAQ’s exception is Classic Skins brought over and updated from SMITE 1, which can be bought entirely with Legacy Gems. See the Legacy Gems FAQ for the publisher’s terms.
Divine Legacy rewards depend on past activity
Divine Legacy recognizes historical achievements with a selected set of rewards. Hi-Rez’s Divine Legacy FAQ says players can unlock up to 11 free SMITE 2 skins, one for each year of SMITE. “Up to” matters: this is a reward ceiling, not an automatic grant of all 11 skins to every player.

How to link accounts without choosing the wrong SMITE 1 account
Hi-Rez’s account-linking guide says the initial SMITE 1 platform link is permanent. Choose the account with the most progress or the most gem spending before linking; linking the wrong account can affect which legacy benefits are associated with your SMITE 2 account.
- Launch SMITE 1 on the platform where you made the most progress or spent the most gems.
- Open the Divine Legacy tab.
- Hold the Link Account control and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If you play SMITE 2 on a different platform, use the guide’s separate optional second step for linking that platform.
Use Hi-Rez’s current account-linking instructions for platform-specific details, which may change as the interface or supported platforms change.

What to expect from your old collection
Check whether a particular skin is a direct cross-gen exception before assuming it will appear in SMITE 2. For anything that does not transfer, Legacy Gems may reduce the cost of an eligible purchase, and Divine Legacy may grant selected rewards for qualifying past achievements. Those systems recognize prior spending and play, but they are not substitutes for transferring the entire SMITE 1 inventory.
