If SnowRunner’s Mod Browser is offline, empty, or failing to sign in, start by logging out in the browser and logging back in. On PC, if you see error 401 or an offline/empty browser, close the game and delete its local mod.io authentication.json file, then reopen SnowRunner and authenticate again. Other errors need different fixes: error 0 points to SnowRunner connectivity, 10001/10005 can have several causes, and -5/-7 usually call for checking mods rather than resetting your login.
Identify the error before changing settings
Note your platform, the exact error and wording, and whether other online features such as multiplayer work. SnowRunner’s support guidance separates server connectivity, mod.io authentication, account restrictions, and mod installation problems; a fix for one layer may not help another.

Sign out and reauthenticate in the Mod Browser
This is the least disruptive first fix for a failed auto-login or a browser that appears offline or empty. Open SnowRunner’s Mod Browser, open More (Triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox), choose Log Out, and confirm. Reopen the browser and follow its sign-in prompts. On PC, use the equivalent menu options with a mouse. The sign-out/re-authentication path is also documented by mod.io Support.
On PC, refresh the local sign-in after error 401
If logging out and back in does not clear error 401—or the browser remains offline or empty—Saber and mod.io recommend refreshing SnowRunner’s stored authentication on PC. Use the main release of the game, not a test or preview build, and make sure the game is current and legally purchased.

- Close SnowRunner completely.
- In File Explorer, open
C:Users%USERNAME%DocumentsMy GamesSnowRunnerbaseMods.modio. Replace%USERNAME%with your Windows account name if needed. - Delete
authentication.jsonfrom that folder. Do not delete other files or folders. - Restart SnowRunner, open the Mod Browser, and authenticate again.
This targets the saved mod.io sign-in state; it is not the right first response to error 0 or mod-installation errors. See mod.io’s PC error 401 guidance.
Fix a missing, delayed, or rejected authentication code
Check junk mail and allow a few minutes for the message to arrive. Verify the email address carefully, including spelling, dots, extension, spaces, and punctuation. Saber says the code is valid for 15 minutes and that you can request only one code every 15 minutes, so wait for the allowed interval before requesting another. For error 422, enter the email in the email field and the five-digit code in the code field. These timing and format details come from Saber’s SnowRunner Mods Issues guidance.

For error 0, check SnowRunner connectivity
Error 0 is not simply a mod.io login error. Saber states: “If you’re seeing "Error Code 0: Connection Timed Out", your game cannot contact SnowRunner’s servers for any online service, and it isn’t a mod.io issue.” First confirm that the PC or console has internet access and that firewall settings allow SnowRunner to connect. Then test multiplayer or another SnowRunner online feature. If those fail too, the problem is broader than the Mod Browser; contact Saber support. The same distinction appears in mod.io’s error 0 guidance.
For errors 10001 or 10005, check network interference
Error 10001 is described as an unknown request failure and 10005 as a timeout. Neither has one guaranteed fix: mod.io says “there is no one fix and each issue will need to be diagnosed individually as there may be several different causes.” As a reversible test, temporarily disable a VPN or proxy and check whether firewall rules, antivirus, or a custom DNS service is blocking the connection. Restore protections after testing; do not leave security software disabled as a permanent workaround. If the error persists, contact Saber, which can diagnose the issue using logs. If the Mod Browser is unavailable on console
If the Mod option is greyed out, check whether Allow User-generated Content is disabled and whether child-account or account-age restrictions apply. Console players also see only the mods approved for console. Subscribing to a PC-only mod on the mod.io website will not make it appear or work on PlayStation or Xbox. Saber lists these restrictions in its SnowRunner Mods Issues guidance.
If the browser works but a mod will not install or appear
Update and isolate problem mods
For errors -5 or -7, update active and inactive mods and check whether the affected mod is compatible with your game. If you can identify a suspect, unsubscribe from it. If you cannot, unsubscribe from all mods and add them back one at a time until the failing mod is clear. Broken, outdated, or manually installed mods can cause installation trouble; repeatedly resetting authentication will not resolve a mod-specific failure.

Match your website and in-game mod.io account
A mod subscribed to on the web must be associated with the same mod.io account or email activated in SnowRunner’s in-game Mod Browser. Once the mod has downloaded, select it in the browser and enable it. Saber explains this in its Usage of Mods from mod.io documentation.
