| Purchase route | What it includes | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Standard digital | Base game. Werehog was listed as a digital pre-order bonus during the launch window. | Do not assume a current purchase includes Werehog. |
| Standard physical | Base game. Werehog was listed as a physical early purchase bonus during the launch window. | Confirm the bonus is included for that seller, region, and copy. |
| Digital Deluxe | Base game and Season Pass. SEGA also advertised up to 72 hours of early access at launch; Nintendo Switch versions were excluded. | Early access is over. Choose Deluxe for the Season Pass, not for that expired launch benefit. |
| Switch 2 physical | A physical Switch 2 edition. SEGA’s Japanese announcement says it became available April 10, 2026. | That date and related commercial guidance are Japan-specific; check local availability and terms. |
| Switch Digital Deluxe plus Switch 2 upgrade pass | SEGA’s Japanese announcement recommends this route for Switch 2 play with the Season Pass; save data can transfer. | Confirm upgrade eligibility, price, and terms in your region before choosing it over a Switch 2 physical copy. |
SEGA’s purchase guide distinguishes the Standard and Deluxe editions, while its official game page lists current platforms and formats. Compare total local price, physical-versus-digital preference, platform, and whether you want the Season Pass.
What happened to the Werehog pre-order bonus?
Werehog was offered as a digital pre-order bonus and as a physical early purchase bonus. The bonus package comprised a character, decal, and machine. Those terms describe the launch offer; they do not establish that a copy bought now includes it. Retail stock, eligibility, and bonus availability can vary by region and seller, so rely on the exact current product listing rather than the edition name alone.

What does the Season Pass add?
Digital Deluxe bundles the base game with the Season Pass; Standard is the base game without that bundle. SEGA describes the pass as adding crossover characters, courses, and machines, with waves themed around Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends. The Deluxe description also mentions three Sonic Prime racers.
The Season Pass and collaboration DLC can also be bought separately, so Deluxe is not the only way to get add-on content. SEGA cautions that DLC contents and release dates may change; check the current listing for what is available and included before paying.
