The Sony Treat Codes hunt was a PlayStation promotion that offered chances to enter to win a PS5 by finding codes in unexpected places. It is over: PlayStation’s official US campaign page now says “Treat Codes is now over,” so there is no active entry route there.
How did the Sony Treat Codes hunt work?
In a video published February 15, 2022, PlayStation said that 14 unique codes would appear in unexpected places over the next two weeks. Each code gave people an opportunity to enter to win a PS5. PlayStation’s description does not establish a precise release schedule, a total number of prizes, or the odds of winning.
The official Treat Codes campaign page confirms the promotion has ended. It does not offer current instructions for entering.
How do I find the Sony Treat Codes now?
You cannot enter the completed hunt through PlayStation’s current campaign page. Its original description says the codes appeared in unexpected places, but the available official material does not establish a complete list of locations or a searchable archive of the codes. A contractor’s case study reports that a PlayStation Treat Codes wallscape in Williamsburg, Brooklyn was witnessed by 392,388 passersby; that is the contractor’s figure, and its page does not provide a methodology or independent verification.

Was Treat Codes the Doritos PS5 contest?
No. Treat Codes was the 2022 hunt for 14 codes. It was separate from PlayStation’s 2020 Doritos promotion, “Find All 4, Win a PlayStation 5.” The 2020 campaign had two described entry mechanics:
- Promotional-pack entry: Buy a qualifying Doritos promotional pack and submit its code for an instant-win promotion.
- Augmented-reality quest: Use a Vatom wallet and a map to locate virtual Doritos bags, then collect four PlayStation symbols for a chance to win a PS5.
PlayStation’s 2020 blog listed the Doritos competition in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland. Start and end dates varied by market, with listed end dates from December 20 to December 31, 2020. Those countries and dates apply to the Doritos promotion only; they do not establish Treat Codes eligibility.

What is not confirmed about Treat Codes?
The available official description and current landing page do not establish the original rules, exact regional eligibility, regional prize allocation, total number of winners, or odds. Do not use details from the Doritos contest to fill those gaps: it was a different promotion with different rules and geographic windows.
