The community wiki’s older guide says to find a helmet near Oro’s Well in Midrath and take it to the nearby forge to begin; once Tuvalkane is available, recipes call for matching Fragments and other listed resources. In Preludes 16, a newer weapon feature lets Tuvalkane learn Tempers from dismantled weapons and add learned Tempers to other weapons. These instructions are version-sensitive because Soulframe is still in pre-alpha.
How do you unlock crafting in Soulframe?
The Soulframe Wiki’s crafting guide says the system becomes available through Tuvalkane after you bring her to the Nightfold. Its listed starting route is to pick up a helmet near Oro’s Well in Midrath and deliver it to the nearby forge. The Sparrow Guide should point you onward after you pick up the helmet. This route comes from a community page last edited October 19, 2025, so check the current in-game guidance if the objective or location differs.
Tuvalkane is the crafting contact described in that guide. The official Preludes 16 update also identifies her as the character who can alter weapon Tempers.
What materials do you need to craft an item?
According to the wiki overview, a recipe requires the matching item Fragments plus the Materials, Dracs, and Joinery listed for that item. Bring the requested items to Tuvalkane; after the craft finishes, collect the result from the Assembled tab. The wiki describes crafting as taking real-world time, but does not establish that every recipe or timing detail remains the same in Preludes 16. Use the current recipe display as the authority for the item you are making.

How do crafting levels and Reforging work?
The older wiki guide says crafting gives Tuvalkane experience and levels, and that she can craft only items at or below her current level. It also describes weapon Reforging as unlocking at Tuvalkane level 3, consuming Materials, Dracs, and Joinery, and completing instantly. These are community-documented mechanics, not details restated on the official Preludes 16 page; confirm the requirements and result in the current menu before spending resources.
How do you change a weapon’s Temper?
In Preludes 16, Tuvalkane can alter a weapon’s Temper. Digital Extremes says dismantling weapons that have Tempers increases the Steelsinger’s understanding of them; after she has learned a Temper sufficiently, she can permanently add it to other weapons. The update does not specify how many weapons must be dismantled or the learning threshold, so the game’s current interface is the only available guide to your progress.

The update’s summary is: “Dismantle that Temper enough and Tuvulkane will permanently be able to add it to other Weapons!” The patch uses “Tuvulkane” in that sentence; the character is otherwise spelled “Tuvalkane.”
