How to play Soulframe now
Digital Extremes opened Preludes to sign-ups made during the TennoCon 2026 weekend through July 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET. That temporary window has closed. The current FAQ says later sign-ups return to closed access, so joining the queue does not provide immediate entry.

- Already admitted: Players who gained access through the TennoCon sign-up window or an earlier invitation retain their Preludes access.
- Signing up now: Use Soulframe’s official website to join the queue and wait for an invitation. Digital Extremes said in 2026 that it sends 2,000 invitations per week; the support article describes selection as a random lottery. An invitation email normally includes four additional codes to share, though special promotions may not.
- Founder bundle: Optional paid bundles grant immediate access and digital benefits. This is a separate purchase route, not general open access; the cited official material does not state current prices.
Preludes is available on PC through Soulframe’s website. It is not currently distributed through Steam or the Epic Games Store. A full-release Steam page can be wishlisted, but that does not provide access to Preludes. Digital Extremes says console versions are planned eventually, likely closer to fuller release.
What Preludes is—and what it is not
Preludes is the game’s current pre-alpha phase: an unfinished, evolving version of Soulframe that Digital Extremes is developing with community participation. The studio asks players to explore, experiment and provide feedback. Some features are unfinished, and major changes may require adjustments in the future; the team says it hopes to avoid wipes but does not promise that the game will never change in ways that affect progress.

What TennoCon 2026 revealed
TennoCon 2026 presented Warsongs: A Soulframe Fable, a story focused on the Envoy’s past and what is at stake for the character and Midrath under the Ode. The gameplay demonstration introduced Bayor, an Envoy sworn to Synod and the Ode. It showed the player revisiting childhood memories with Doyen and riding into combat on wolf-back.

Vadagar progression path
Digital Extremes announced Vadagar as a new progression path for an Envoy affected by corruption. Rather than drawing on Virtues, Vadagar uses Vespers associated with Doom, Death and Wrath. The announcement describes a planned system; check current patch notes for whether and how it has reached the live Preludes build.
Fishing and mounts
The event recap announced fishing for a future Preludes update and said players would be able to ride an Omen Beast in 2026 after building trust with it. Those were plans at announcement time, not confirmation that every feature is currently available. Digital Extremes’ homepage subsequently listed Preludes 16 and fishing on September 29, 2026; consult the corresponding current update notes for implementation details.

Is there a Soulframe release date?
No firm public release date has been announced. Digital Extremes says it will remain in Preludes for as long as necessary to shape the game’s world, systems and story. The developer’s FAQ puts it plainly: “There is no firm release date for Soulframe just yet.”
What PC do you need?
Preludes is PC-only, but the official sources cited here do not publish minimum or recommended PC specifications. That means there is not enough verified information to recommend a particular configuration or predict performance. Check Soulframe’s official access information and current support material for any hardware guidance before installing.
