To become an administrator on a Soulmask dedicated server, add an administrator password to the server launch command, open the in-game console, run gm key <password>, enter that password in the GM panel, and choose Become the Admin. Reopen the console and run management commands with the gm prefix.

This guide covers the commands documented for current dedicated-server builds, including teleportation, progression, NPCs, tribes, weather, vegetation, invasion heat, saving, and remote administration. Names and capitalization vary between builds, so test uncertain or destructive commands on a backup save.

How to become an admin in Soulmask

1. Set an administrator password on the dedicated server

Stop the server and edit its launch script. On Windows, append the administrator flag to StartServer.bat:

-adminpsw=<password>

Linux dedicated-server references use the same flag in StartServer.sh. Replace <password> with the password you intend to type in game, then restart the server. Keep the password private: anyone who can authenticate through the GM panel can issue administrative commands.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Use a password that is distinct from player, panel, Steam, or operating-system credentials. The important requirement is that the flag is attached to the script that actually launches the Soulmask server process. Editing a shortcut, an unused copy of the script, or a provider note will not change the running server. After restarting, retain the exact capitalization and punctuation so you can enter it identically in the console.

2. Open the console after joining

  1. Join the server with the character that should receive administrator privileges.
  2. Press the grave/tilde key (~). On some keyboards, the numeric keypad minus key also opens the console.
  3. If neither key works, remap the console key in Input.ini. A documented example changes the setting to ConsoleKey=Insert; use a key that your keyboard layout can produce.

Keyboard layouts can place the grave character somewhere different from the key labeled on a US keyboard. Remapping is therefore preferable to repeatedly pressing an unavailable key. On a managed server, you may need file-manager access or provider help to edit the input file; on a self-hosted server, change the file locally and restart the game client if the new binding is not recognized immediately.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Authenticate and activate the GM panel

  1. Enter gm key <password> in the console, using the exact administrator password from the launch script.
  2. When the GM panel appears, enter the same password.
  3. Select Become the Admin.
  4. Close and reopen the console, then run administrative commands with the gm prefix.

The hosted-server setup flow is documented by Host Havoc’s Soulmask admin-command guide. A successful login does not make every command safe or universally available: command exposure depends on the installed server build.

Why gm key does not work

  • The flag was not loaded: verify that the server was restarted after adding -adminpsw= and that the flag is attached to the actual startup command.
  • Password mismatch: type the password exactly as configured, including capitalization and punctuation.
  • The console never opened: try keypad minus, then remap ConsoleKey in Input.ini.
  • The panel opened but commands have no effect: choose Become the Admin in the panel, close it, and issue the command again with gm.
  • A spelling or case difference: some commands have different capitalization or translated names in different references. Try the documented alternative for your build and test it on a private save.
  • You are testing a target command without a target: select the NPC, player, tribe, or structure first. Commands such as recruitment, information display, and tribe takeover act on the selected object.
  • The value is outside the build’s accepted range: retry with a small experience amount, level, distance, or radius. A rejected parameter can look like a failed login even when administrator status is active.

Command syntax and safety rules

Examples below use angle brackets for values you replace; do not type the brackets. Coordinates, radii, levels, experience amounts, and other numeric values must be accepted by the server build. Commands marked as variants are not guaranteed aliases: one spelling may work while another is ignored.

  • Use the gm prefix for in-game server effects unless the command is explicitly shown without it.
  • Target an NPC or character before running target-based commands. The selected target is generally the object affected.
  • Save before experimenting with tribe, NPC, account, or building commands.
  • Account deletion, tribe deletion, mass NPC removal, and radius building destruction are destructive operations. Verify the target and parameters before pressing Enter.
  • Keep a record of the command spelling, capitalization, and result that your server accepts. This is especially useful after a server update or when moving a save between Windows and Linux.
  • Do not assume that a remote command accepts the same syntax as an in-game command. Remote examples below use their own numeric prefixes and generally do not include gm.

Authentication, navigation, and movement

Command What it does Important details
gm key <password> Opens the GM panel and authenticates the administrator. Run it after the server has loaded -adminpsw=; then select Become the Admin.
GPS Prints the controlled character’s coordinates. Useful for recording a location before teleporting or restoring a build.
gm Go <X> <Y> <Z> Teleports the administrator to world coordinates. The community reference labels this spelling community-only, so it may not exist in every build.
gm GoF <distance> <Z> Teleports forward and places the character on the highest surface. Listed as a native command in the binary-oriented reference; parameter behavior can still vary.
gm ShowMap Unlocks the map. Use only after authentication; it changes map visibility for the administrator.
gm GhostMode Toggles flight and clipping. Useful for passing through terrain while building or inspecting a site.
gm FlyMode Toggles flight. If movement behaves unexpectedly, toggle it again before using a teleport command.

A practical movement check is to run GPS, use a short gm GoF move, and run GPS again. This confirms that the console is accepting commands before you attempt a long coordinate teleport. Record the original coordinates so you can return to the same location without guessing.

Character, mask, and progression commands

Command Effect Version or spelling note
gm AddExp <value> Adds character experience. The amount is supplied as a numeric value.
gm AddMJExp <value>
gm Addmjexp <value>
Adds mask or awareness experience. Capitalization differs between guides and builds; try the form accepted by your server.
gm Addshoulieexp <value>
gm AddShouLieExp <value>
Adds hunting experience. These are capitalization variants, not two separate rewards.
gm DengJi <level> Sets the controlled character’s level. Listed by the community command reference.
gm SetAttr <Attr> <Value> Sets an attribute on the controlled character. Use the attribute identifier expected by the build.
gm XiDian Resets attribute or progression points. Record the current build before resetting.
gm JSMJ Repairs or unlocks mask nodes. Its exact scope is not fully verified; test on a copy of the save.
gm UnLock_Techs
gm KeJiShu
Unlocks technology or recipe nodes. Guides use different spellings; only one may be recognized by a particular build.
gm ShowInfo 1 Displays the administrator’s quality, proficiency, skills, and talents. Use 0 instead of 1 for the targeted character.
gm ShowInfo 0 Displays information for the targeted character. Select the target first.
gm SetAttr YinShen 1 Enables invisibility. Run the same command with 0 to disable it.
gm SetAttr YinShen 0 Disables invisibility. Applies to the controlled character.

Progression commands can alter several systems at once. Before using DengJi, technology unlocks, or proficiency changes on a live character, use ShowInfo 1 to capture the current state. If the result is not what you expected, restore the save rather than stacking more commands to compensate.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Players, NPCs, and account actions

Command Effect Safety and targeting
gm ZhaoMu
gm recruit
Recruits the targeted NPC or barbarian. The command name differs by reference and build; target the NPC before running it.
gm ClearAllNpc
gm clear_all_npcs
Removes non-owned NPCs. Removed NPCs may respawn. Confirm that temporary NPCs are not needed before running it.
gm ClearSelect Removes the selected target. Listed in the Prima Games command list; verify the target because the action is destructive.
gm FuHuo Revives the controlled character. Use after an accidental death instead of altering progression.
gm ZiSha 1 Causes the controlled character to commit suicide. Destructive to the current character state; do not use as a test command on a live save.
gm shanhao Deletes an account. Highly destructive. Verify the command and account identity before execution and keep a backup.

For NPC work, select one known NPC and test the recruitment spelling on a private save. A mass clear command is not an undo button: removed NPCs may respawn, while owned NPCs and other world state can require a restore. Account deletion and suicide should never be used to diagnose whether administrator access is working.

World time, weather systems, vegetation, and invasion heat

Command Effect Parameters and limits
gm AddGameWorldTime <seconds> Advances the world clock. Supply the number of seconds to add.
gm Set24hTime <HH:mm> Sets the time of day. Use a 24-hour value such as 18:30.
gm SetTimePower <value> Sets the day-length multiplier. Use a value accepted by the installed build.
gm ShuaXinZhiBei <value> Refreshes vegetation within range. Descriptive variants appear in community references.
gm refresh_vegetation_in_range <value> Refreshes vegetation around the administrator. 4NetPlayers documents units in which 100 units equal 1 metre and a maximum radius of 35,000.
gm destroy_vegetation_in_range <value> Destroys vegetation within a radius. Check the radius before execution; large values can clear a substantial area.
gm ShowReDu
gm show_fever
Displays invasion-heat information. These names differ between references.
gm ClearAllReDu
gm clear_fever
Clears invasion heat. Use the spelling recognized by the server build.
gm AddReDu <value>
gm add_fever <value>
Increases invasion heat at the current location. Run only when you deliberately want to trigger additional pressure.
gm ChongZhiRenWu Resets tutorial missions. Resetting missions can change the character’s progression state.

Vegetation commands use a radius around the administrator. The documented 35,000-unit ceiling for refresh_vegetation_in_range is substantial, so start with a small value and increase it only when the result is correct. The same caution applies to destruction: inspect the value and location before pressing Enter.

Tribes, structures, and server operations

Command Effect Important detail
gm join_target_tribe Forces the administrator into the targeted tribe. Select a tribe member or relevant target first.
gm join_tribe <index> Joins the tribe at a list index. 4NetPlayers counts the first entry as index 0, not 1.
gm take_over_target_tribe Takes chief permissions for the targeted tribe. Confirm the target; this changes control of the tribe.
gm DeleteGuild Deletes the tribe at the documented index position. Destructive. Confirm the index and make a backup.
gm CuiHuiViewGongHuiJianZhuByRadius <radius> Destroys buildings within a radius. Measure the radius conservatively; nearby structures can also be removed.
gm BaoCun Manually saves server data. Run this before and after major administrative changes.
gm reset_abilities Resets skills or abilities. Use when rebuilding a character’s ability allocation.
gm set_all_pros_level <value> Sets all proficiency levels. Supply the desired level value.
Debuginfo 1 Shows server status information. Use Debuginfo 0 to hide it.
Debuginfo 0 Hides server status information. It does not revoke administrator access.

Index-based commands require extra care because the first listed tribe is index 0. Display or note the list before choosing an index, and verify the result with the relevant information command. Run gm BaoCun only after you have confirmed that the change is intentional; keep the pre-change backup if you may need to roll back.

Remote administration: Telnet and RCON

The remote interface is separate from the in-game GM command set. A binary-oriented technical reference documents Telnet on the loopback EchoPort, whose default is 18888. It also documents RCON password and port flags:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
-rconpsw=<password> -rconport=<port>

The documented default RCON port is 19000. On Linux, an IP whitelist is configured in WS/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Engine.ini. Restrict access to trusted administration addresses and avoid exposing a Telnet or RCON port directly to the public internet.

To prepare remote access, stop the server, add the RCON password and port flags to the real launch script, restart, and confirm that the chosen port is allowed only for the intended administration addresses. On Linux, review the whitelist in Engine.ini after the restart. Keep the RCON password separate from the in-game administrator password so that a leaked game password does not automatically grant remote access.

Examples of documented remote commands

Remote command Purpose
20go <SteamID> <X> <Y> <Z> Teleports the specified Steam account to world coordinates.
22cnpc Creates an NPC through the remote interface.
23create Creates an object or entity through the remote interface.
19lcc Looks up a class name.
38run <ScriptFileName> Runs a command script from WS/Saved.

Remote consoles do not expose the complete in-game command set. A command that works after authenticating in the GM panel may have no remote equivalent, and remote syntax does not generally use the same gm prefix. Treat the remote list as a separate interface and verify each command against the server build before automating it.

For a first remote test, use a read-oriented operation such as class lookup rather than NPC creation, teleportation, or a script. Confirm the response, then test one controlled action on a private save. The 38run command can execute a script from WS/Saved, so inspect the filename and every command in that script before running it.

Why command names differ between Soulmask guides

Published lists are snapshots, not a guarantee that every current build has the same command surface. Prima Games reported 28 console commands in its June 3, 2024 list; that number describes that article’s list rather than a permanent total for Soulmask. Current dedicated-server references include additional commands, translated names, and remote-only operations.

The most visible conflicts are:

  • AddMJExp versus Addmjexp.
  • KeJiShu versus UnLock_Techs.
  • recruit versus ZhaoMu.
  • show_fever versus ShowReDu.
  • gm Go, which the technical reference labels community-only, while gm GoF is listed as a native command.

When a command is ignored, first confirm administrator activation, then try the documented capitalization variant. Do not assume that a successful command on one server is supported on another; keep a private test world for uncertain commands and record which spelling your build accepts.

Self-hosted versus managed administration

The command syntax is still determined by the installed Soulmask server, but the place where you configure and troubleshoot it depends on how the server is operated.

Administration concern Self-hosted dedicated server Managed server
Administrator password You edit StartServer.bat or StartServer.sh and control the launch flags. You enter or request the launch setting through the provider’s control panel or support process.
Files and launch options Direct access to scripts, Input.ini, saves, and configuration files. Access depends on the provider’s file manager and permitted settings.
Telnet/RCON You can configure EchoPort, RCON flags, and the Linux whitelist yourself. Availability and port exposure depend on the provider’s plan and network policy.
Keyboard remapping You can edit Input.ini directly. You may need file access or provider assistance.
Backups and rollback You choose the backup schedule and retain the save files. Backup frequency and restore controls are provider-specific.
Command compatibility You can test against the exact binary you installed. Confirm that the provider’s command list matches the installed build before relying on a guide.

There is no universal command-count guarantee or fixed hosting requirement. The decisive checks are whether you can edit the launch flags, reach the save and configuration files, obtain backups, and restrict remote ports. Ask a managed provider specifically whether -adminpsw, -rconpsw, -rconport, Input.ini, and the Linux whitelist are available for your plan.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A safe operating procedure for administrators

  1. Back up the save. Do this before account, tribe, NPC, vegetation, or building commands.
  2. Authenticate once per session. Confirm the GM panel says you became the admin before testing a command.
  3. Start with read-only checks. Use GPS, ShowInfo, or Debuginfo to confirm the target and current state.
  4. Use the smallest possible value. Test a small experience amount, short teleport, or narrow radius before scaling up.
  5. Save deliberately. Run gm BaoCun after a change you want to retain, and keep a pre-change backup for rollback.
  6. Document accepted spellings. Record whether your build accepts translated, underscored, or differently capitalized variants.
  7. Separate remote automation from GM testing. Validate an in-game command first, then confirm that a remote equivalent exists before writing scripts.
  8. Review access after maintenance. Recheck the launch flags, RCON port, and Linux whitelist after updates or migrations, because a new script or configuration path may not preserve the old settings.

Practical command workflows

Teleport and inspect a location

Authenticate, run GPS to record your starting point, then use either gm GoF <distance> <Z> or the coordinate form gm Go <X> <Y> <Z> if your build accepts it. Run GPS again and use gm GhostMode or gm FlyMode only when you need to inspect terrain or structures. Toggle the mode off when finished.

Recruit one barbarian safely

Select the NPC, make a save backup, and try gm ZhaoMu. If it is ignored, try gm recruit rather than issuing a mass NPC command. Confirm that the NPC is now owned before saving with gm BaoCun.

Clear invasion heat without changing progression

Use gm ShowReDu or gm show_fever to inspect the current state. If the build recognizes it, use gm ClearAllReDu or gm clear_fever, then inspect again. Avoid AddReDu unless you deliberately want to increase pressure at your current location.

Frequently asked questions

How do I become an admin in Soulmask?

Add -adminpsw=<password> to the actual Windows or Linux startup script, restart the dedicated server, join it, open the console, run gm key <password>, enter the password in the GM panel, and choose Become the Admin.

What is the full Soulmask admin command list?

The documented set covers authentication, movement, progression, NPCs, world time, vegetation, invasion heat, tribes, buildings, saving, and diagnostics. The tables above include the known in-game commands and spelling variants. The available set depends on the installed server build, so no published total should be treated as permanent.

Why does gm key not work?

Check that the server was restarted with -adminpsw, that the password matches exactly, and that the console is really open. Try keypad minus or remap ConsoleKey to a key such as Insert. If the panel opens, select Become the Admin before running other commands.

How do I teleport in Soulmask?

Use gm Go <X> <Y> <Z> if your build supports the community-listed command, or use gm GoF <distance> <Z> to move forward to the highest surface. GPS prints your current coordinates.

Free tools Windows power users keep installed

One-click scans. No signup required.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How do I spawn or recruit an NPC?

For a targeted NPC or barbarian, select it and try gm ZhaoMu or gm recruit. Remote administration separately documents 22cnpc for NPC creation; remote syntax is not the same as the in-game GM list.

Can Soulmask commands run through RCON?

RCON is documented with -rconpsw=<password> and -rconport=<port>, with port 19000 as the documented default. Remote commands are a separate interface: examples include 20go, 22cnpc, 23create, 19lcc, and 38run. RCON does not expose every in-game gm command.

What are the Telnet and RCON ports?

The documented loopback Telnet EchoPort default is 18888. The documented RCON default is 19000. Restrict both interfaces to trusted addresses and configure the Linux IP whitelist in WS/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Engine.ini where applicable.

Should I use a self-hosted or managed server?

Self-hosting provides direct control of scripts, files, ports, backups, and keyboard settings. Managed hosting is easier when the provider exposes those controls and keeps backups, but availability of launch flags, RCON, file editing, and rollback is plan-specific. Confirm those items before relying on a command guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these commands on any Soulmask server?

No. Command exposure and capitalization vary by server build. Test uncertain commands on a private save and keep the accepted spelling for your installation.

Does opening the GM panel automatically activate admin mode?

No. Enter the password in the panel and select Become the Admin, then reopen the console and use the gm prefix.

Are destructive commands reversible?

Not reliably. Account deletion, tribe deletion, NPC clearing, and radius building destruction should be preceded by a save backup; restore the backup if the result is wrong.

Is RCON a complete replacement for the in-game console?

No. The documented remote interface has its own commands and does not expose the complete in-game GM set.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

The Bottom Line

Set -adminpsw on the real server launch script, authenticate with gm key, choose Become the Admin, and verify commands on a backup before changing a live world. Use the exact spelling your build accepts, keep RCON and Telnet restricted, and treat account, tribe, NPC, vegetation, and building commands as irreversible until a restore proves otherwise.
