Xbox announced three Game Pass additions for April 2025: Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition on April 3, followed by Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition and South of Midnight on April 8. This is a historical announcement, not confirmation that the games are still in the catalog. Xbox’s April 2, 2025 announcement did not establish their current availability, regional access, or plan coverage.
When the three games were announced to arrive
Xbox Wire published the lineup on April 2, 2025. Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition had the earliest arrival date, April 3. The other two games were listed for April 8.
Platforms, plans, and editions in the announcement
| Game | Announced arrival | Platforms listed | Plans listed | Edition details |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition | April 3, 2025 | Cloud, Console, PC | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard | Base game, four campaign add-ons, Director’s Cut content, and cosmetic packs |
| Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition | April 8, 2025 | Console, PC | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard | Diablo III and the Reaper of Souls expansion |
| South of Midnight | April 8, 2025 | Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass | Day-one action-adventure game from Compulsion Games, set in a modern folktale drawing on the mythos of the Deep South |
The plan lists above reflect what Xbox named in its April 2025 announcement; they should not be read as a statement of current availability. In particular, Xbox did not list Game Pass Standard for South of Midnight.
What Xbox said about South of Midnight’s launch offer
Xbox Game Pass Senior Community Lead Megan Spurr described South of Midnight as “Available on day one with Game Pass!” in the April 2, 2025 announcement. Xbox also said members could save 10% on the digital Premium Edition Upgrade. The described upgrade included up to five days of early access, digital access to the artbook, the original soundtrack, and more. That discount and offer were part of the 2025 announcement and are not confirmation of a current offer.
