What did the Space Marine 2 quick fix change?
Focus Entertainment announced Hotfix 2.1 on September 11, 2024, saying it had been pushed to PC and consoles. Its fixes targeted stability and progression problems rather than introducing the larger features previewed for later in the month.

- Addressed rare possible crashes at game startup.
- Addressed a rare possible crash during the first cutscene, along with several other rare crashes.
- Fixed several rare story-mode bugs that could cause soft locks.
- On PC only, optimized CPU behavior on high-end CPUs.
The CPU item was explicitly marked PC-only in the Hotfix 2.1 announcement. It should not be read as a general performance fix across consoles or all PC hardware.

In the same September 11 announcement, Focus Entertainment described Hotfix 2.1 as the “first quick fix” and said, “On top of that first quick fix, we’re preparing a bigger patch for later in September.” That follow-up was a separate planned update, not part of Hotfix 2.1. The publisher previewed three headline additions: ultrawide support, private PvE lobbies, and a Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge.

Private mode for Operations
Players can run Operations alone with bots or with one friend, without random matchmaking during the mission. The feature is described as private mode for Operations, rather than a private lobby for every PvE activity.
Hub Sparring Arena
The update added a Sparring Arena to the Hub, accessible from the Launch Bay while in Operations or Eternal War. It gives players a place to spar without leaving those modes for the Hub.
