To earn the best listed result in Space Marine 2’s three Heavy class trials, match your approach to the objective: keep firing under Iron Halo, hold the capture zone with the Multi-Melta in Ceramite Strongpoint, and land charged Plasma blasts without overheating in Covering Fire. A community-maintained trial reference lists fastest targets of 40 seconds, 60 seconds, and 80 seconds respectively; treat these as listed goals, not verified records for every current game build.
Trial goals and listed time targets
| Trial | Core task | Heavy tool | Constraint to watch | Fastest listed target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Halo | Return fire while protected from enemy ordnance | Iron Halo | Use protected time to deal damage rather than waste it repositioning | 40 seconds (Space Marine 2 Wiki (Fandom); current-build status unverified) |
| Ceramite Strongpoint | Hold a capture zone | Multi-Melta | Do not leave the capture zone | 60 seconds (Space Marine 2 Wiki (Fandom); current-build status unverified) |
| Covering Fire | Deal area damage with charged Plasma blasts | Plasma weapon and Iron Halo | Avoid overheating; block incoming damage with Iron Halo | 80 seconds (Space Marine 2 Wiki (Fandom); current-build status unverified) |
The Space Marine 2 Wiki (Fandom) lists Iron Halo thresholds of 60, 50, and 40 seconds, Ceramite Strongpoint thresholds of 80 and 60 seconds, and an 80-second completion target for Covering Fire. The fastest value shown is the relevant goal if the trial presents those tiers. The reference is community-maintained, and the official update notes do not verify that these thresholds remain unchanged in the current build.
Iron Halo: return fire instead of giving ground
The trial description says Iron Halo shields you from enemy ordnance so you can focus on returning fire. The listed thresholds are 60, 50, and 40 seconds.
How to approach it
- Activate Iron Halo when incoming ranged pressure would otherwise interrupt your attack.
- Keep firing while protected. Avoid spending that window on unnecessary repositioning.
- Prioritize enemies actively threatening you and maintain a clear firing lane so you can keep dealing damage.
The trial reference describes the barrier-and-return-fire objective, but it does not prescribe a precise activation moment, target order, or frame-perfect route. The steps above are tactical guidance based on that objective, not a verified scripted sequence.

Ceramite Strongpoint: stay inside the capture zone
Ceramite Strongpoint centers on holding a capture zone with the Multi-Melta. The reference explicitly says not to leave the zone and lists 80- and 60-second thresholds.
How to approach it
- Keep your movement within the capture-zone boundary throughout the trial.
- Use the Multi-Melta at a range where its close-range strength is useful.
- Engage enemies you can reach without chasing them beyond the zone. Leaving the boundary conflicts with the stated objective.
The no-leaving instruction is a documented constraint. Movement choices and target order are practical coaching, not prescribed steps from the reference.

Covering Fire: manage Plasma heat while using Iron Halo
Covering Fire calls for charged Plasma blasts that deal area damage on impact. Its listed constraints are to block damage with Iron Halo and avoid overheating the Plasma weapon; the reference shows an 80-second completion target.
How to approach it
- Use charged shots when enemies are clustered or a blast can hit multiple targets.
- Pace your shots to avoid overheating. The available trial information does not establish an exact charge cadence for the current build.
- Use Iron Halo when you need to absorb incoming fire, while continuing to look for opportunities to damage groups with the Plasma blast.
The current heat behavior and enemy spawn sequence are not documented in the cited trial reference, so there is no supported fixed firing rhythm or spawn-by-spawn route to give.

What to check if the trial behaves differently
The in-game objective text should take precedence if it differs from the listed community reference. An August 11, 2024 GameRiot class-trial video includes the Heavy section at 14:27 and can help visualize the original flow, but it predates later updates and does not establish current balance or trial-room scripts.
Focus Entertainment’s Patch 15.0 notes announce a separate feature, “Trials of Resolve #3,” described as: “New Ordeals featuring Vanguard and Heavy class challenges, as well as PvP and Siege game modes.” Those notes confirm newer Heavy challenges but do not say that they replace or modify Iron Halo, Ceramite Strongpoint, or Covering Fire. Games Workshop’s Warhammer Community article, dated October 1, 2026, discusses an anniversary update with new challenges and Year 3 content; it does not provide detailed mechanics for these three Armouring Hall trials.
