Focus said the map would be set on Kadaku and that a 4K Texture Pack for PC would be free. The publisher later announced additional Kadaku Operations content in 2026, while the October 2026 Anniversary Update II added a separate Siege map on Avarax.
What did the October map announcement promise?
In its October 2, 2024 community update, Focus Entertainment said, “The new map for Operations mode, located on Planet Kadaku, will arrive in October.” The post did not specify an exact release day. Its mission brief described Space Marines fighting alongside Cadian forces to destroy Tyranid Capillary Towers as the planet’s organic matter was being converted into biomass. Read Focus Entertainment’s community update.
Is the 4K Texture Pack free, and who can use it?
Yes. In the same 2024 announcement, Focus said: “For PC players: a 4K Texture Pack will be downloadable! It will be entirely free.” The pack is a PC download intended to enhance the game’s textures; it is not an installable add-on for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series. The Steam listing identifies it as a downloadable add-on.
The available official information does not establish the pack’s download size, minimum VRAM, recommended graphics card, or measured performance impact. Those details should not be inferred from player anecdotes or from the “4K” label alone.

What came later—and what is new in October 2026?
May 2026: Purgation Update
Focus announced on May 21, 2026, that the Purgation Update was available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It included a free PvE Operation in the Kadaku swamps, a Siege Mode progression overhaul, and new enemies in that mode. The announcement establishes later Kadaku Operations content, but does not say that this is the same map described in the October 2024 post. Read Focus Entertainment’s Purgation Update announcement.
October 2026: Anniversary Update II
The official Steam developer feed says Patch 15, also called Anniversary Update II, launched October 1, 2026. Its additions include Chaos Siege Mode, a Hive Siege map on Avarax, Crucible challenges, and weapon and customization content. That Avarax Siege map is a distinct addition from the Kadaku Operations-map announcement made in 2024. View the official Steam developer feed.

How to read the date in the headline
“Arrives in October” was Focus’s wording in a post published October 2, 2024. It is historical, not a statement that the Kadaku map is still due in October 2026. The later Purgation Update and Anniversary Update II are separate updates, and their announced features should not be conflated with the 2024 map promise.
