Where the Galvanize problem happens
The reports describe a progression-blocking issue at the first Galvanize prompt in the “Set Things Right” mission: the game asks Miles to use the ability, but L1+X is not accepted and the mission does not advance. These are anecdotal player reports from 2023, not confirmation that the same issue affects every player or version.

Try these workarounds in order

Restart the last checkpoint
Use the game’s checkpoint restart option, then try the Galvanize prompt again. One player reported that restarting worked on the third attempt, so repeat the checkpoint once or twice if the first retry does not help; results can vary. The player discussion is anecdotal.

Enter L1+X during checkpoint reload
If the prompt remains unresponsive, try pressing L1+X—or entering the combination repeatedly—while the checkpoint is reloading, before the on-screen prompt appears. This timing workaround comes from Player Assist’s guide; it is third-party advice and is not confirmed by Insomniac in the sources cited here.

Check your controller mapping
Make sure L1 and X still correspond to the expected inputs if you have changed your controller settings. Insomniac documents controller remapping and shortcuts for combat and traversal abilities in its accessibility features. These are useful input checks, not documented fixes for the Galvanize issue.
If it still will not work
For a persistent problem on PC, contact Nixxes Software, which Insomniac directs PC players to for PC-specific questions. The reported workaround accounts describe PlayStation controls and do not establish a PC-specific solution. See Insomniac’s PC support guidance.

Insomniac’s support area includes game updates and support information, but the sources cited here do not confirm an update that specifically fixes this Galvanize prompt. Do not assume that updating the game will resolve it.
