Spider-Bots are not marked as icons on the full map in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. To find one, go to the guide’s location and search nearby while watching the mini-map and listening for the proximity cue. Bots can be on walls, under bridges, or above ground level—not necessarily at the exact point where a guide pin seems to land.
Why Spider-Bots don’t appear on the full map
A missing Spider-Bot icon on the overall map is expected behavior, not by itself evidence of a bug. Push Square’s Spider-Bot locations guide says nearby bots appear as purple spider icons on the mini-map, with a pulse and audio cue as you approach. Use the guide to identify the district and search area, then rely on those proximity signals rather than expecting a full-map marker.

How to find a bot at a guide location
- Check the district’s progress. Use a current location list to see which area still has an uncollected bot. Push Square’s guide, dated August 5, 2026, lists all 42 Spider-Bot locations.
- Search around the guide’s point. Move through the vicinity and watch the mini-map for the purple spider icon; listen for the pulse or audio cue as you get closer.
- Look above, below, and to the sides. Check building walls, bridge undersides, rooflines, and nearby elevated spots. Some bots are positioned away from street level, and reaching one may require gliding or approaching from an adjacent building.
- For the Central Park bot that seems underground, look for nearby access. Insomniac Games Support’s November 21, 2025 response to “A Spider-Bot in Central Park is stuck underground” says: “This is likely a misunderstanding. The Spider-Bot just appears as if it is underground. Try searching the surrounding area for a way to access it.” That advice applies to the described Central Park case; it does not establish that every absent bot is hidden underground.
Make Spider-Bots easier to see
Enable the Collectible Shader
Insomniac’s accessibility options document a Collectible Shader that applies a solid, single-color shader to world items, including Spider-Bots. In the High Contrast options, enable it and choose a conspicuous color. This changes how collectibles appear in the world; it is a visibility aid, not a map marker or a guaranteed remedy for a bot that has failed to appear.
Consider the All Seeing upgrade
A secondary guide describes an “All Seeing” upgrade in the Traversal Suit Tech menu that reveals Spider-Bots on the mini-map. It does not add them to the full map. Because this detail is not documented on Insomniac’s accessibility page, check the current in-game label and availability before relying on it.

What to do if the bot still seems missing
After checking the district, proximity cues, and nearby surfaces and access routes, a bot that still cannot be found may reflect an unresolved game or save-state issue. The sources cited here do not establish a universal repair or confirm that a particular update fixes Spider-Bot visibility. Insomniac’s support request form is the route to report a case that persists.
Insomniac’s v1.005.000 patch notes, dated July 28, 2026, list new suits, enhanced PSSR support for PS5 Pro, and Power Saver mode for PS5; they do not announce a Spider-Bot visibility fix. That absence does not prove no issue exists, but it means a specific patch fix should not be assumed.

Push Square’s guide counts 42 Spider-Bots, with the first obtained automatically during “Spider-Spy?” and the others listed by district. Collecting all 42 leads into “The Message” and the Funky Wireless Protocols Trophy. If a guide location appears empty, use the district list to verify the outstanding bot, then search the vicinity using the cues above.
