Lootlemon lists three dedicated Legendary drops—Lead Balloon, Firewerks, and Jelly—but its numerical odds are third-party estimates, not official Gearbox rates. Splashzone’s main threat is a ground smash from his mechanized arm; use the encampment’s ledges to help manage the other Rippers while you position around him.
Where is Splashzone in Borderlands 4?
You encounter Splashzone during the Recruitment Drive mission in the Fadefields. The fight takes place at a small Ripper encampment, where other Rippers are present alongside the boss. Epic Games Store’s campaign boss guide identifies the encounter and describes ledges as useful for keeping clear of hostiles.

How do you handle the Splashzone fight?
Splashzone specializes in melee attacks. His signature described threat is a ground smash with his gigantic mechanized arm, so watch his position and avoid staying close when he is about to strike. The ledges can help you manage spacing from the other Rippers in the encampment.
The cited encounter guide does not specify a recommended build, damage type, level threshold, or detailed attack sequence. Treat the positioning advice as general encounter guidance, not a tested build or guaranteed strategy.

What Legendaries does Splashzone drop?
Lootlemon lists these three dedicated Legendary items for Splashzone:

The percentages are per-item probabilities, not a promise that every kill awards a Legendary. Individual runs can produce no drop or multiple drops; results vary. Gearbox has not published a numerical Splashzone-specific rate in the cited official notes, so do not treat Lootlemon’s values as Gearbox-confirmed odds.
What do the official updates say about boss loot?
Gearbox’s March 5, 2026 update says dedicated loot chances were standardized across base-game bosses, Bounty Pack bosses, and Invincible encounters. That is an official statement about the broader system, not confirmation of Splashzone’s exact percentage. The update also describes a separate weekly Wildcard Mission with a guaranteed Legendary drop that can be earned repeatedly to pursue a preferred roll; it is not a guarantee attached to Splashzone.

A later official Version 1.9 update on July 30, 2026 says Pearlescent weapons received dedicated drop sources, boss encounters were improved, and dropped loot was adjusted to stay within reach. These changes are a reason to check current patch information when using older farming advice. The updates do not supply a verified Splashzone respawn or arena re-entry route.

If you are targeting one of the three listed items, Splashzone is the dedicated source identified by Lootlemon. A normal boss run and Big Encore have different listed chances on that third-party page, but the reviewed sources do not establish run times or prove which approach is more efficient for a particular player.

No current, verified step-by-step respawn loop is established by the cited sources. Use the game’s available encounter and activity options rather than relying on an unverified claim about how to reset or re-enter the arena. For another Legendary route, Gearbox’s weekly Wildcard Mission is a distinct activity with its own guaranteed drop; it should not be confused with a guaranteed Splashzone drop.
