To complete the Splendor of the Jade Palace Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet, speak to the Colorist at the bridge in Jadewood Court’s Imperial Garden, paint three scenes, then return and submit the paintings. The locust-tree scene requires Hai Hour according to multiple walkthroughs; the other scenes are at Petalfall Crossing and the Martial Hall.
Where to start Splendor of the Jade Palace
Find the Colorist at the bridge connecting the North and South Imperial Gardens in Jadewood Court. Some guides call it the Immortal Bridge. Speak to the Colorist to begin the Wandering Tale. Game8, NerdsChalk, and GameTrek identify the location as Jadewood Court’s South Imperial Garden.
How to paint all three scenes
1. Paint the locust tree at Hai Hour
From the Grand Canal Boundary Stone, travel toward the large locust tree and use the painting table there. Set the in-game time to Hai Hour before painting: Game8 and NerdsChalk both say the tree glows then. If you need help confirming the timing, GameTrek says to speak with Gu Xian near the table during daytime to learn when the tree will glow. Game8 · NerdsChalk · GameTrek
2. Paint the flute player at Petalfall Crossing
Go to the dock north of the Petalfall Crossing Boundary Stone and interact with the painting table to paint the flute player. Game8’s walkthrough lists this as the second scene.

GameTrek reports that this Wandering Tale may require completing “Still Waters Run Deep” and “An Unholy Prophecy” first. Other walkthroughs do not list those prerequisites, so treat them as a possible progression gate rather than a confirmed requirement for every version. If the Colorist does not offer the tale, check the in-game quest log and those quest completions. GameTrek
