There is no confirmed PS5 release date for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition. The bad news for PlayStation players is that reports of a possible PS5 version came from an ESRB listing—not an announcement from SEGA—and follow-up coverage said the PS5 reference had disappeared. The listing leaves a port possible, but it does not confirm that the game will launch on PS5.
Is Space Marine: Master Crafted Edition coming to PS5?
As of the latest reports cited here, SEGA had not officially announced a PS5 version, release date, price, PlayStation Store listing, or physical edition. On July 1, 2026, PlayStation LifeStyle and Push Square reported that an ESRB listing included PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. Two days later, 4Gamers reported that those platform references were no longer visible on the ESRB page.
A rating listing can indicate that a product was submitted for classification, but it is not a launch confirmation. The platform references—and their reported removal—do not establish whether a PS5 port is planned, cancelled, or simply awaiting an announcement. SEGA’s official announcement still describes the edition as a PC and Xbox release; it does not announce PlayStation availability.
What is the bad news for PS5 players?
There are two separate uncertainties. First, a PS5 version has not been officially confirmed in the cited reports, so there is no reliable date or platform-specific information for PlayStation owners. Second, coverage of the already released remaster described its reception as mixed, with criticism that its additions felt limited or that its price was too high. Those are reported critical judgments, not a universal verdict or a measured consensus.

- Purge the relentless Tyranid swarms as legendary Space Marine Titus in a spectacular new campaign. Play solo or with up to 2 friends in 3 player co-op.
- Enjoy intense, gory and fast-paced third-person action with hundreds of enemies on screen, from the creators of blockbuster co-op shooter World War Z.
- Standard edition includes: Base game, Macragge’s Chosen DLC, with 3 unique cosmetics for your Bolt Rifle, Chainsword & Power Armour
That criticism matters if a PS5 port does arrive: players should not assume it will be a substantial remake simply because the edition is called “Master Crafted.” SEGA advertised technical and presentation updates, but the reported complaints concern the scope of those changes and their value to buyers.
What is Master Crafted Edition, and what platforms were announced?
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition is a remaster of the original Space Marine, not the 2024 sequel Space Marine 2. SEGA announced the remaster on May 22, 2025, with a June 10, 2025 launch for PC, Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox Series X/S. Its announcement listed a UK price of £34.99 and said the release includes previously released DLC. That price and platform information came from SEGA’s 2025 announcement; they do not establish a PS5 price or availability.

| Game | What it is | PS5 status in the cited sources |
|---|---|---|
| Space Marine | The original game | No PS5 availability established here |
| Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition | 2025 remaster of the original | Possible port reported from an ESRB listing; no official SEGA announcement or date reported |
| Space Marine 2 | The sequel | Confirmed for PS5 by Warhammer Community |
The sequel is a distinct PS5 game, not the remastered original. Warhammer Community confirmed Space Marine 2 for PS5 in March 2025. Its availability should not be mistaken for confirmation of Master Crafted Edition.

SEGA describes the edition as a technical and presentation upgrade. The publisher’s announcement lists 4K resolution for PC and Xbox Series X—not PS5—and highlights improved textures, an overhauled graphics engine, updated character models, modernized controls and interface, remastered audio, and a move from a 32-bit to a 64-bit system. SEGA also advertises more than 100 new Ork voice lines and says previously released DLC is included.

What should PS5 players do now?
If you are waiting specifically for the original game’s remaster on PS5, treat the ESRB report as a hint rather than a release announcement. Look for confirmation from SEGA or an official PlayStation Store listing before relying on a date, price, edition, or feature set. If you want a confirmed PS5 entry in the series now, Space Marine 2 is the sequel—but it is not a substitute edition of the original game.
