ssgs1su.dll is associated with older Samsung printer software, not with Windows itself. If Windows says the file is missing, cannot be loaded, or cannot be found, repair the Samsung printer package that installed it instead of downloading a replacement DLL.
What ssgs1su.dll is
Available file records identify ssgs1su.dll as a Samsung printer-software component associated with SMARTUI, an older printer interface or advanced user-interface extension. It may be installed with a model-specific Samsung printer driver or utility.
It is not known to be:
- A Windows system DLL

A 64-bit Windows installation can still use a 32-bit printer utility. Do not replace the file with a similarly named DLL from another computer or architecture.

The safest fix: reinstall the exact Samsung printer package
The most likely cause is an incomplete, damaged, removed, or incompatible Samsung printer installation.
Samsung printer driver distribution is now handled through HP Support. Use the printer model’s official Software and Drivers page, not a generic DLL website.
1. Identify the printer model
Check the model label on the printer. You can also check Windows:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Settings.
- Open Bluetooth & devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select the Samsung printer.
- Record the exact model name.
Do not use a generic Samsung driver if the model-specific page offers a dedicated package.

2. Download the official software
- Open the official HP Support driver area in your browser.
- Search for the exact Samsung printer model.
- Select Software and Drivers.
- Choose your Windows version.
- Download the Samsung printer driver or Samsung Printer Software Installer.
- Save the installer rather than running a file obtained from a search result or third-party download page.
The available software can differ by model. If the download includes a printer utility, SMARTUI, or other user-interface component, include that component during installation.
3. Install the package
- Right-click the downloaded installer.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Follow the setup wizard.
- Allow the installer to detect or select your exact printer.
- Install the printer driver and the required Samsung software components.
- Restart Windows when setup finishes.
Test the printer utility that previously displayed the error. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners, select the printer, and try Print a test page if that option is available.
If the error no longer appears, the missing component was restored. If setup reports that an older installation is present or fails partway through, remove the damaged package before trying again.
Remove the damaged Samsung installation and reinstall it
A failed upgrade or printer replacement can leave a startup entry or utility looking for an old copy of ssgs1su.dll.

Uninstall from Windows
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps.
- Search for Samsung printer software, Samsung printer utilities, or the relevant printer model.
- Select the three-dot menu beside the entry.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Complete the removal wizard.
- Restart Windows.
If the Samsung package includes Samsung Printer Software Uninstaller, use that utility instead. It may ask you to select the printer model and the components to remove.
You can also remove the obsolete printer:
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Select the old Samsung printer.
- Choose Remove.
- Confirm the removal.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the current model-specific package.
After reinstalling, check Task Manager → Startup apps. If an old Samsung utility remains listed and points to a removed installation, disable that entry and restart. Do not delete random files from Windows driver folders.
Check whether antivirus software quarantined the file
Security software can remove a printer DLL if it is damaged, unexpectedly modified, or incorrectly detected.

- Open Start.
- Type Windows Security.
- Open the app.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections involving
ssgs1su.dllor Samsung printer software.
If Microsoft Defender identifies a file as a false positive, Windows may provide Allow on device or Restore. Only use those actions when all of the following are true:
- The file came from the official printer installer.
- The detection matches the Samsung installation you were repairing.
- The file has not been downloaded separately.
- You have checked the detection details and are confident it is not an unwanted or modified file.
If the file was quarantined from an unknown source, do not restore it. Reinstall the printer software from the official model-specific package instead.

Update the printer driver and related devices
An old driver can continue launching a utility that expects a file from a previous Samsung software version.

First, use the exact printer model page and install the current package for your Windows version. Do not rely on Windows Update alone if the Samsung utility itself is missing.
You can also check Device Manager:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Printers, Print queues, and, if present, Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click the Samsung printer entry.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows after the process completes.
If the Samsung device shows a warning icon, right-click it and choose Uninstall device. Do not select a driver-removal option unless you are certain the package is obsolete and no other printer depends on it. Then restart and run the official Samsung printer installer again.

When several drivers are installed, manually identifying the stale package can mean hunting through model names and driver versions. Outbyte Driver Updater can show which drivers are outdated in its free scan; driver installation is completed by the full version. For this file, however, reinstalling the exact Samsung printer software remains the definitive fix.
Repair Windows components only when other files are failing
ssgs1su.dll is not known to be a Windows component, so SFC and DISM are secondary repairs. Use them when other Windows files are also damaged, Windows Security reports broader corruption, or the printer installer itself will not run.
Run DISM first
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Wait for the command to finish. Then run:
sfc /scannow
Restart Windows after both commands complete.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC in its System File Checker guidance.
Running these commands repeatedly without knowing what changed can make troubleshooting harder. Outbyte PC Repair can show what its free scan finds; repairs are completed by the full version. It is optional, and it does not replace reinstalling the Samsung printer package that owns this DLL.
Understand “specified module could not be found”
The message does not always mean that ssgs1su.dll itself is absent.
Windows may find ssgs1su.dll but fail to load one of its dependent modules. This can happen when:
- The printer installation is incomplete.
- A related Samsung file was removed.
- The wrong printer package was installed.
- A required runtime or supporting component is missing.
- The DLL belongs to a different architecture than the program loading it.
- The file was restored without the rest of the printer software.
For that reason, copying one DLL into an application folder is rarely a complete repair. Reinstall the whole printer package so its dependencies, registration, services, and configuration are restored together.

Do not download a standalone DLL
Random DLL download sites can provide:
- Malware or tampered files
- The wrong version
- The wrong architecture
- A file intended for another Samsung package
- A DLL with missing dependencies
A matching filename does not prove that a file is authentic or safe. Use the official printer model’s driver and software installer.
Do not copy it into System32 or SysWOW64
Copying ssgs1su.dll into C:WindowsSystem32, C:WindowsSysWOW64, or an arbitrary application folder can create version conflicts. It can also leave the required dependent files and printer configuration missing.
The installer should place the file where the Samsung utility expects it.
Do not normally run regsvr32
Do not use:
regsvr32 ssgs1su.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. A printer interface or runtime DLL is not automatically a self-registering COM or ActiveX component.

Microsoft documents the command’s purpose and syntax in its regsvr32 documentation. If registration is required, the official Samsung installer should perform it.
If the installer still fails
Work through these steps in order:
- Disconnect the printer temporarily if the installer cannot detect it.
- Remove the old printer from Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Uninstall Samsung printer software from Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Run the Samsung Printer Software Uninstaller if it is available.
- Restart Windows.
- Temporarily close other printer-management utilities.
- Download the package again from the exact model page.
- Run the installer as administrator.
- Confirm that the Windows edition selected on the download page matches the installed system.
- Reconnect the printer when the installer requests it.
If old print-driver remnants remain, use Windows Print Management or the printer manufacturer’s documented cleanup procedure. Do not delete arbitrary files from driver directories.
System Restore is reasonable when the problem began immediately after a known printer installation, update, or cleanup and a suitable restore point exists. It is not a substitute for installing the correct current printer package.

Is ssgs1su.dll part of Windows?
No evidence supports that. It is associated with Samsung printer software and should not be treated as a general Windows file.
Which Samsung printers use it?
A reliable public source does not map the file to one universal Samsung printer model. The package can vary by printer and software version. Identify your model and use its official driver page.
Is ssgs1su.dll safe?
The filename alone cannot establish that. A copy delivered by the official printer installer is more trustworthy than a standalone download, but security software detections should still be reviewed.
Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
The architecture is not reliably established from public catalogs. Do not assume based only on whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit. Older printer utilities on 64-bit Windows may still require 32-bit components.
Should I register the DLL?
Normally no. Reinstall the complete Samsung printer software. Use regsvr32 only when the vendor’s instructions specifically require it.
What information is useful if the problem continues?
Record the full error text, the executable showing it, the exact printer model, Windows version and build, the installer source, and whether Windows Security quarantined anything. Those details help distinguish a missing file from a missing dependency or an obsolete printer utility.
