Stage Tour launches December 10, 2026, according to RedOctane’s current official product page. The 5-fret rhythm game is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players can use instrument controllers or play arcade-style with keyboard or gamepad, but compatibility depends on the controller and platform.
What is Stage Tour?
Stage Tour is the first announced game from RedOctane Games, a studio founded in 2025 and led by rhythm-game veterans and community figures. It is a new music game built around familiar instrument-controller play, rather than an announced Guitar Hero sequel or an Activision-produced title. RedOctane describes it as a long-term platform shaped with community participation, aiming to welcome newcomers while giving experienced players challenging charts.
The studio’s February 2026 announcement called the game “our love letter to rhythm gaming.” In June, RedOctane named Eidos-Montréal and Third Kind Games as co-development partners. The company’s history is distinct from the former RedOctane publisher associated with the Guitar Hero series.
When does Stage Tour come out, and what platforms are confirmed?
RedOctane’s current product page gives the release date as December 10, 2026. The confirmed platforms listed in its FAQ are PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Steam lists the PC version for 2026; the official page is the source for the specific date and full platform list.

- Rock out with your friends in guitar hero live with the 2 pack bundle
- Bundle contains game software and two guitar hero live wireless guitar controllers
- Instruments: lead guitar, groove guitar or bass, drums, and vocals.
- Without an instrument controller: PC keyboard and gamepad arcade modes.
- Modes listed on Steam: Quickplay, Practice, Judgements, Karaoke, and a roguelite Tour Mode.
That range means a dedicated guitar is not the only way to play. The experience differs by input, however: keyboard and gamepad modes are alternatives, not instrument-controller compatibility solutions.
What instruments and songs are included?
RedOctane says Stage Tour will launch with more than 90 licensed songs spanning six decades. Its current materials also advertise more than 180 in-game Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer guitars, plus more than 50 bandmates. These are the developer’s announced figures for the game, not independently tested totals.

The 54-track figure is an interim reveal, not the announced final launch count. Consult RedOctane’s Stage Tour page for the latest track announcements.
Can you use a Rock Band guitar or another controller?
RedOctane says modern controllers—including CRKD guitars, the Riffmaster, and Rock Band 4 instruments—are planned to work natively on the platforms those controllers support. That does not guarantee every model will work on every system: check the exact instrument and platform in the official compatibility FAQ before buying or connecting it.

Older instruments made for Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, or PS2 may also work, but can require an adapter, particularly on consoles. RedOctane says PC is expected to have the widest native support for legacy instruments. Treat that as platform-specific guidance, not a promise that every older controller will work without extra hardware.

If you are choosing a controller, compare it against your platform and preferred instrument, then confirm whether it has native support or needs an adapter. An official new controller may be a straightforward option, while an already-owned compatible instrument could avoid buying another one. Do not assume a listing or bundle includes a controller that works with your particular system without checking its specifications.
Is there a Stage Tour comic?
RedOctane announced a Dark Horse Comics one-shot connected to Stage Tour. The comic was initially offered to San Diego Comic-Con attendees while supplies lasted and described as a bonus collectible with future hardware-bundle preorders. Its current availability is not established; check RedOctane’s store or announcements if you are looking for a copy.
