If you mean the new drum controller tied to Stage Tour, RedOctane Games’ official listing calls it the Stage Tour Drum Kit. The game is currently scheduled to launch on December 10, 2026—not next year—and the kit is listed for preorder at $199.99 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Switch 2 drum hardware will not be available at launch.
What is the new rhythm-game drum kit?
The headline is ambiguous because it does not name a game or manufacturer. The strongest match is Stage Tour, RedOctane Games’ rhythm-action game: its official site promotes a dedicated Stage Tour Drum Kit. That identification is the best-supported fit, not a definitive decoding of the headline.

RedOctane says Stage Tour includes more than 90 officially licensed songs, more than 180 Gibson, Epiphone and Kramer guitars, and more than 50 bandmates. Those are publisher-stated figures. The game supports drums alongside lead guitar, groove guitar/bass and vocals, as well as PC keyboard and gamepad. Its listed modes include four-lane and five-lane Arcade play, Easy through Expert difficulty, and Expert Plus for drums. See the official Stage Tour site and FAQ.

When does Stage Tour launch?
The official site currently gives December 10, 2026 as the release date. That replaces the broader “Holiday 2026” timing in RedOctane’s February announcement, and makes “coming next year” outdated as of October 2026. Check the official site for any later date change.

How much does the Stage Tour Drum Kit cost, and what is included?
RedOctane lists the kit at $199.99 on its official product page. The listed package contains:
- Four drum pads and a drum controller unit
- An adjustable stand
- A low-latency USB wireless dongle and USB charging cable
- Drumsticks and a kick pedal
The manufacturer advertises individually adjustable sensitivity for velocity-sensing pads and cymbals through the Stage Tour App, wireless play using the included dongle, and a wired PC mode with 1 kHz polling. These are product specifications, not independent performance-test results. Cymbals are sold separately; the listing also describes a separate Pro Cymbal Expansion Kit and an additional kick pedal for double-kick play. Check the official Drum Kit listing for current price, options and availability.

Which platforms support the kit at launch?
The official listing offers PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S options. It says Stage Tour drum hardware will not be available for Switch 2 at launch. Switch 2 players can still play drum charts using Joy-Con 2 or the Switch 2 Pro Controller, according to the product page. Platform availability and compatibility are subject to change, so confirm the details on the product listing before ordering.
Can you play Stage Tour without buying this kit?
Yes. The game lists PC keyboard and gamepad as supported inputs, and its FAQ says instrument-controller compatibility varies by instrument and platform. It identifies CRKD guitars, Riffmaster and Rock Band 4 instruments as examples of modern controllers that work natively on the platforms they support. Older Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and PS2 hardware may also work, but can require adapters, particularly on console. Check the official FAQ against your exact controller and platform rather than assuming every instrument works.

Are other drum controllers compatible?
Not automatically. Bandai Namco’s Taiko no Tatsujin Drum Controller is a separate product listed for PS5, PS4 and Windows 10/11. Its official store page says it is designed for Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session, and specifically excludes The Drum Master. It does not establish compatibility with Stage Tour. Check Bandai Namco’s controller listing for its stated games and platforms.
A 2025 report also covered a separate CRKD rhythm-game drum controller, then expected to receive a formal introduction in Q1 2026. Its current product status is not established here, and it should not be confused with RedOctane’s Stage Tour kit.
