For a late-game suit focused on physical and radiation protection, the Diamond Exoskeleton is the strongest supported pick in STALKER 2—but that is a fully upgraded, protection-first judgment, not a universal ranking for every build. It is also found in late-game areas, so the best armor for your current run may be a suit you can obtain and upgrade sooner.
How the armor ranking works
Armor is not a single-stat choice. Compare physical protection with radiation and other environmental protection, then consider mobility, artifact capacity, upgrade access, and when you can obtain the suit. A suit that leads on one protection measure may not be the best fit for a player prioritizing movement or flexibility.

The available guides support one clear, conditional top pick. They do not provide a current, comparable stat table sufficient to rank every exoskeleton or identify a definitive best non-exoskeleton suit. Exact protection values and artifact-slot counts are therefore not included here.

Best protection-first late-game suit: Diamond Exoskeleton
Game8 identifies the Diamond Exoskeleton as its best exoskeleton and says it has the highest physical and radiation protection among the armors when fully upgraded. That makes it the best-supported choice if those two forms of protection are your priority and you have reached the areas where it can be found. The assessment is a guide judgment, not a verified lead in every resistance or play style. Game8’s Diamond Exoskeleton guide was last updated January 17, 2025; its page was inaccessible, so the claim rests on the guide’s surfaced summary.

- Chornobili, its tragedy doesn't end
- Genre: Open World FPS
Other exoskeletons: alternatives, not a reliable rank order
Cuirass, Operator, Liberty, Brummbar, and Ruby are among the other exoskeletons for which Gamer Guides lists locations. The cited material does not establish a comparable set of protection and mobility figures for these suits, so it would be misleading to place them in a precise first-to-last order. Some exoskeleton upgrades reportedly enable sprinting or jumping, but movement benefits depend on the specific suit and upgrade. Gamer Guides’ exoskeleton location guide names Harpy at Yaniv Station and Bolero in Prypiat for special exoskeleton upgrades.
Best non-exoskeleton suit: not established
SEVA-I has a dedicated guide covering its stats and effects, but that alone does not establish that it beats other SEVA suits, SSP suits, or full-body options. Game8’s SEVA-I guide was last updated January 8, 2025; it is useful as a suit-specific reference, not as a complete comparative verdict.

Where to find the Diamond Exoskeleton
Gamer Guides lists two Diamond locations. The directions below are from its guide, last updated January 3, 2025, and may need to be checked against your game version.
Quick Recap
Spark Bunker, Yaniv
- Reach the Spark Bunker during the main mission The Boundary; this route is mission-gated.
- Go through the first door, then climb the ladder beside the key-card door to reach the rooftop.
- Take the north stairs down and turn left twice to reach the Diamond Exoskeleton.
Sunny Kindergarten, Prypiat
- Enter Sunny Kindergarten from the building’s southern side.
- Navigate through the interior to the stairs and go up.
- Pass through the opening in the wall to the adjacent room, where the Diamond is located. The guide warns that guards are present around this location.
What to check before choosing a suit
- Protection profile: Decide whether physical protection, radiation protection, or resistance to other environmental hazards matters most for your next stretch of play. The Diamond recommendation specifically concerns physical and radiation protection when fully upgraded.
- Mobility: Check the individual suit’s upgrade options in-game. Do not assume every exoskeleton gains the same sprinting or jumping capability.
- Availability and progression: Weigh how soon you can reach a suit against how long it will be useful. The Yaniv Diamond is tied to The Boundary, while the other listed route is in Prypiat.
- Upgrade access: Confirm that you can reach an appropriate technician and afford or obtain the upgrades you want. Harpy at Yaniv Station and Bolero in Prypiat are named for special exoskeleton upgrade work.
- Build flexibility: If you are choosing between a full suit and separate helmet-and-chest pieces, compare the combinations available in your game. A community tool describes comparisons of full suits and head/chest combinations, including ratings, durability, upgrades, and protective properties, but its current game-data version is not established. Graybriel’s Stalker2-ArmorCompare repository can help frame what to compare; verify figures in-game before relying on them.
