Find Janalite by hand-mining in caves on Daymar, Magda, or Ita in Stanton. These are search areas, not guaranteed spawn points: Janalite is rare, and no verified route or cave ranking guarantees a find. Bring a handheld Multitool fitted with a Mining Attachment.
Where to search for Janalite
The community-maintained Star Citizen Wiki Janalite reference lists sand-cave harvest areas on Daymar, Magda, and Ita. Use those bodies as leads, then search caves on foot; the listing does not establish that every cave contains Janalite or identify a reliable coordinate.
- Daymar: sand caves are listed as a Janalite harvest area.
- Magda: sand caves are listed as a Janalite harvest area.
- Ita: sand caves are listed as a Janalite harvest area.
The same reference reflects Alpha 4.10.1 data and reports 2% occurrence for listed deposits. That figure is community-maintained game data, not an official CIG statistic or a promise that a particular cave—or any given trip—will yield Janalite. Patch changes and in-game randomness can make location data stale, so check the page against the current build before traveling.
What equipment to bring
Janalite is listed as an FPS-minable mineral, so plan to gather it by hand rather than with a mining ship. Roberts Space Industries recommends a handheld Multitool with a Mining Attachment for small-scale mining and says this setup does not require a special mining ship. Ship mining uses a separate scan, fracture, and extraction workflow. RSI describes those phases in Mining Basics, updated June 8, 2026; its ship controls are not FPS keybind instructions for hand-mining Janalite.
Plan the trip in Stanton
Daymar, Magda, and Ita are in Stanton. RSI describes Stanton as safer for exploration and learning than Pyro, which it calls lawless, or frontier-centric Nyx. That makes Stanton a reasonable setting for a beginner’s search, but it does not make any cave risk-free or establish which of the three locations is easiest to reach. A community mining finder offers filters for material and locations across Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx: UEX Corp. Treat it as an optional planning aid, not an authoritative source or guarantee of a Janalite spawn.

RSI distinguishes hand-collected gems from mined ore: gems are ready to trade, while unrefined mined commodities must be processed at a refinery and cannot be sold at regular commodity terminals.
