For a serious CrimeStat, go to Security Post Kareah near Cellin in Crusader space and use its Imperial Criminal Database terminal with an in-game Cryptokey to dismiss charges. Pay fines only when an offense is still payable. Serving a sentence at Klescher is another option, but escaping does not erase your record.
Choose a way to clear your record
Check your legal information in the in-game Journal, then see whether the active offense can be paid at a fines terminal. The available route depends on the charge: lower-level citations may be payable, while serious felony-level records require a database hack or serving a sentence. The Star Citizen Wiki’s CrimeStat reference and the ExpCarry guide distinguish payable fines from serious records.
- Pay a fine: Use this when the terminal offers payment for the offense.
- Hack the database: Choose this for a serious record if you can reach Kareah with a Cryptokey.
- Serve a sentence: Consider Klescher if you are arrested or surrender and would rather serve the term than attempt the hack.
There is no source-backed speed ranking for these options. Weigh the remaining payable charges, sentence shown, gear you could lose, whether you have a Cryptokey and transport, and the current prison-timer issue described below.
How to wipe CrimeStat at Security Post Kareah
Security Post Kareah is in Crusader space near Cellin. The station’s Imperial Criminal Database is the cited location for removing serious charges. Kareah is defended by NPC security and anti-aircraft defenses, and lawful players may also pursue criminals there; plan for resistance rather than treating it as a safe service stop. - Reach the terminal at Kareah. Get to the Imperial Criminal Database terminal and begin the hacking interaction.
- Wait for the record lookup to pause. Community-maintained instructions say to interact again when the terminal halts while accessing the record.
- Dismiss the charges individually. Follow the terminal prompts to remove charges one by one.
The detailed interface sequence comes from the community-maintained database reference, last modified in 2025, rather than a current official step-by-step manual. Interactions may change between builds.
When paying a fine is enough
Fines and Citations terminals can resolve offenses that remain payable. Check the specific offense at the terminal instead of assuming every CrimeStat can be paid away. The available sources distinguish lower-level citations from felony-level records; they do not establish a current count of CrimeStat tiers that applies to every jurisdiction.

Serving a sentence at Klescher
Klescher Rehabilitation Facility is on Aberdeen. According to the Klescher facility reference, a character may be sent there after being killed by security or another player at CrimeStat 3 or higher, or by surrendering at a fines terminal. Its cited entry describes the facility and its location.
RSI’s Alpha 4.10.1 Known Issues article, updated 16 September 2026, reports that sentence time has been observed resetting if a prisoner dies or reconnects before finishing the sentence. RSI says it is investigating the issue. This is a reported issue for Alpha 4.10.1, not a claim that every prison stay resets.

Why escaping prison does not wipe CrimeStat
Escaping Klescher gets you out of the facility; it does not clear the criminal record. The cited ExpCarry guide says an escaped player still needs transport and a successful database hack to erase the record.

The RSI Advocacy page describes the in-universe rule that CrimeStat persists unless it is erased or a sentence is served. For practical gameplay directions, the Kareah interface details come from community and third-party guides, while RSI’s current first-party notice cited here concerns the Alpha 4.10.1 Klescher timer issue. Patch changes may affect the exact interactions.
