What was included in Star Citizen’s $27,000 pack?
PC Gamer reported on May 28, 2018, that the original Legatus Pack cost $27,000 and contained 117 ships plus 163 additional items. Those figures describe that historical edition; they do not establish what a later or currently offered pack contains. PC Gamer’s 2018 report also said that, at the time, a player needed to have spent $1,000 on Star Citizen to view the store page. That is a historical access detail, not a verified current purchase requirement.
How did the Legatus pack change?
Legatus editions have been reported at different prices and with different contents. A secondary history of the Legatus 2953 edition says it was released in the first quarter of 2024, cost $48,000 and included 175 vehicles among its contents. That information is not a current official store listing. The Star Citizen Wiki’s Legatus Pack history provides the secondary account.

These figures do not support a like-for-like value comparison: the editions are from different years and their reported contents are not identical categories. A ship-count-per-dollar calculation would not account for those differences or for pledge terms and the game’s development status.

Is the $27,000 pack available now?
There is no verified current official Legatus listing in the sources available here. That means the present price, availability, contents and eligibility threshold are unresolved. The existence of a search result dated May 26, 2026, with the same headline is not by itself evidence that Cloud Imperium Games announced a new $27,000 pack then. Check RSI’s official store for a live offer and its terms before treating historical reporting as current.
What does a Star Citizen pledge buy?
Roberts Space Industries’ Terms of Service characterize pledges as support for development that provides access to open-alpha releases and selected in-game items. The terms also distinguish digital game items from physical merchandise, such as T-shirts, notepads and physical ship models.

RSI’s terms state: “Star Citizen remains in development and there are features, content, and technology still to be implemented to realize the full vision of the Game.” A pledge therefore is not a purchase of a finished, bug-free game; the terms explicitly say development continues and the game is not final.

RSI’s terms describe a 30-day withdrawal period for eligible pledge items, subject to exceptions; after that period, earned pledge funds are generally non-refundable. RSI support documentation says ship upgrades are intended to be permanent and explains that reclaiming a pledge can convert its value to store credit, with package-level and buyback restrictions. A separate support article says eligible reclaimed pledges may become store credit, Warbond pledges are cash-only, and credit-funded pledges are non-giftable.
