Its official title is Across the Unknown: a survival strategy game about commanding Voyager, managing its ship and resources, and making choices that can alter the crew’s journey. The Voyager connection gives the game a strong nostalgic hook, but its premise is about the pressures of command as much as familiar faces and stories.
What is Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown?
Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is a story-driven survival strategy game developed by Gamexcite and published by Daedalic Entertainment. Steam lists its release date as February 18, 2026. The store describes it as “a story-driven survival strategy game in which the fate of the iconic starship is in your hands.” Steam’s game listing and Daedalic Entertainment frame the experience around command decisions, ship management, and a journey through the Delta Quadrant.
How the Voyager game plays
Manage the ship, crew, and supplies
You maintain and configure Voyager while managing its resources and crew. That makes the ship itself a central part of the strategy: decisions about keeping it functioning and allocating what is available are tied to the crew’s ability to endure the journey.
Explore and live with your choices
Exploration and consequential decisions shape the voyage. The publisher describes branching outcomes and “what-if” scenarios, while the store emphasizes changing situations and consequences across runs. Daedalic also identifies roguelike elements, so the journey is not simply a fixed retelling of the television series.

Choose the level of survival pressure
In a February 17, 2026 interview with Stevivor, Gamexcite founder and CEO Patrick Streppel said the game has three difficulty settings, from an adventure mode focused more on the story to a harsher survival experience. He cautioned that the game is still a survival game in which players should feel the weight of command.
Why the premise feels nostalgic—and why it is more than nostalgia
Voyager’s Delta Quadrant setting is an immediate point of recognition for fans, and the game’s first announced story DLC, Delta Chronicles, makes the connection especially explicit. Announced by Daedalic on July 16, 2026, it contains five branching side missions inspired by the episodes “Distant Origin,” “The Omega Directive,” “Cold Fire,” “Homestead,” and “Inside Man.” The episode references give fans familiar touchstones, while the branching missions and management systems put the player in charge of how events unfold.

Calling that “strategy nostalgia” is an interpretation of the game’s appeal, not a measured finding about why players enjoy it. The available descriptions support both sides of the pitch: a recognizable Voyager setting and a survival-strategy structure built around resource management, exploration, and difficult choices.
What the launch trailer can—and cannot—tell you
Steam lists a launch trailer, but the available listing information does not establish its specific shots, sequence, or editing. The trailer’s existence confirms an official video promotion for the game; it does not, by itself, support claims about particular scenes or gameplay footage. For verified details about the game’s premise and systems, the Steam listing and publisher description are more useful than assumptions based on the trailer’s title.

Do not confuse it with the 2013 Star Trek game
Across the Unknown is not STAR TREK The Video Game, the separate Kirk-and-Spock title covered in a StarTrek.com article about the 2013 game. The Voyager game is the survival-strategy title centered on command of the U.S.S. Voyager.
