Star Trucker is a single-player space-trucking simulation built around hauling cargo, managing a rig and steering through zero-gravity momentum. Steam’s English-language user reviews were positive overall but more divided recently in a snapshot captured on October 8, 2026. What is Star Trucker?
Developed by Monster and Monster and published by Raw Fury, Star Trucker launched on September 3, 2024. It is a single-player simulation in which you pilot a rocket-powered big rig, take delivery jobs, scavenge salvage and keep the vehicle running as you travel through space. It is not primarily a conventional spaceflight game: the central activity is driving and working as a trucker, with zero gravity changing how the vehicle handles.
The developers describe the handling this way: “Your truck is not a starship. We’ve taken typical vehicular controls then made sure zero-g momentum played a big part in maneuvers. The result is a unique driving experience that’s easy to pick up yet hard to master!” Steam’s Star Trucker listing also describes long-haul and hazardous deliveries, route and warp planning, fuel and power monitoring, repairs, replacement parts, upgrades and a cab radio.
What do Star Trucker reviews say?
In a Steam snapshot captured on October 8, 2026, 78% of 3,252 English-language user reviews were positive, which Steam labels “Mostly Positive.” Among 72 recent user reviews, 69% were positive, labeled “Mixed.” These are changing storefront aggregates, not a critic-review consensus or a guarantee of how any individual player will feel.

The overall rating suggests that many reviewers have responded positively to the game, while the lower recent rating points to a more mixed recent reception. The percentages alone do not explain why users reviewed it positively or negatively, so treat them as a quick temperature check rather than a substitute for deciding whether its particular mix of trucking, vehicle management and zero-g handling appeals to you.
What kind of gameplay should you expect?
Deliveries, routes and salvage
The core loop is taking jobs and moving cargo through space. The store listing also describes salvage work and route planning, including warp planning. That makes the game a better fit for players interested in planning and completing hauls than for those looking mainly for combat or open-ended space exploration.

Managing the truck
Fuel, power, repairs and replacement parts are part of the work, alongside upgrades. This adds an ongoing vehicle-management layer to the driving. Players looking for a low-maintenance arcade ride may find that workload less appealing; players who enjoy keeping a vehicle operational may find it central to the fantasy.
Zero-gravity handling
The truck uses familiar vehicle-style controls, but momentum in zero gravity affects maneuvering. The developers’ description points to a handling model that is intended to be approachable but takes practice to master. Expect the appeal to depend partly on whether adapting to momentum sounds satisfying to you.

What DLC and updates are available?
The Steam listing includes the Cultivation Content Pack, Heavy Duty Pack, Hallow’s Eve Pack and Amped Customization Pack, as well as a soundtrack and a free Star Truck Owner’s Manual. The official Plants & Post update describes Specialist Courier as a free unlock with mail-themed jobs and customization rewards. It describes Cultivation Expert as a premium venture available through the Cultivation Content Pack, which adds jobs, rewards, trailers and cargo. Is Star Trucker worth playing?
Consider Star Trucker if the idea of being a working trucker in space appeals more than piloting a combat-focused starship. Its stated features combine hauling and route planning with vehicle upkeep and zero-g momentum; the listed controller support may suit players who prefer a gamepad, provided their setup is supported.
Before buying on PC, compare your hardware with Steam’s requirements. If you use a wheel, joystick or throttle, verify that exact device and setup against current developer guidance rather than assuming that full controller support covers it.
