Kay Vess meets Jabba the Hutt during the main story of Star Wars Outlaws; you do not need Jabba’s Gambit or a Season Pass to see him. Ubisoft’s official material confirms the meeting, but does not document the Jabba’s Palace Rancor fight’s moves or tactics. This page sets out what is established about the scene and access, rather than guessing at a walkthrough.
Where Jabba fits into Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws is a single-player, open-world action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft studio, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. It follows Kay Vess and her companion Nix in a story set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Ubisoft’s official game page presents Tatooine and Jabba among the game’s locations and characters.

Ubisoft states that every player meets Jabba in the main game. The meeting is separate from Jabba’s Gambit, an additional quest described in the publisher’s August 5, 2024 post-launch roadmap. In that quest, Jabba gives Kay a job while she assembles her heist crew because ND-5 owes the Hutts a debt.
Is Jabba’s Gambit required to meet Jabba?
No. Ubisoft explicitly distinguishes the main-game meeting, which all players get, from the extra Jabba’s Gambit quest available to Season Pass owners. The Season Pass content adds that quest; it is not a prerequisite for encountering Jabba in the base game.

What is confirmed about the Rancor fight?
The title refers to a Rancor boss fight in Jabba’s Palace, but the official sources available here do not verify its sequence, attack cues, weak points, weapons, or recommended tactics. They therefore cannot support a reliable step-by-step strategy for beating it. Avoid relying on a specific dodge timing or weapon recommendation unless you have an encounter-specific guide that demonstrates those details.
One separately documented Rancor appearance should not be confused with the palace encounter: a 2024 StarWars.com launch article reports a 1-in-100 chance for a Rancor to spawn in the Akiva compound biolab survey room instead of the usual predators. That is an Akiva chance encounter, not evidence about the Jabba’s Palace boss fight.

Ubisoft’s FAQ describes the game as a single-player, open-world action-adventure and gives August 30, 2024 as its original launch date on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The launch article from StarWars.com, also dated August 30, 2024, lists PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Ubisoft’s current game page also announces Nintendo Switch 2 availability and provides current platform pathways. Check that page for platform-specific availability and purchase options.
