Star Wars: Galactic Racer does not advertise native local split-screen in its official store listings. On PC, a fan-made mod called SWGRCouch adds a split-screen menu and targets up to four local players, but it is a work in progress and is not an official game feature. The mod author reports testing with two and three players, not four.
Does Star Wars: Galactic Racer have split-screen?
Not as an officially advertised built-in mode, based on the store listings checked on October 9, 2026. Steam lists single-player, online PvP, and cross-platform multiplayer. PlayStation describes one-player play and online matches of up to 12 players; Xbox lists single-player and online multiplayer for two to 12 players. Those listings do not advertise local split-screen, though they cannot rule out changes in later updates.

The game launched worldwide on October 6, 2026, and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The local co-op option described here is a separate community-made PC mod, not a mode included in those console editions.
How to play local co-op with the SWGRCouch mod
SWGRCouch is a fan-made UE4SS Lua mod for the Steam PC version. Its Nexus Mods listing says the game is not included and requires a legitimately purchased Steam copy. The author describes the project as unaffiliated with Lucasfilm, Disney, and the game’s developers.

- Get the Steam PC version. The mod listing specifies a legitimately purchased Steam copy.
- Install and configure SWGRCouch using its current instructions. The mod uses UE4SS, but its requirements and installation details may change. Follow the current Nexus Mods page rather than relying on guessed file paths or version numbers: SWGRCouch on Nexus Mods.
- Connect a separate controller for each local player. The listing’s joining instructions have each guest press A on their own pad.
- Open the mod’s Split Screen tab and add players. Guests then join using their individual pads.
The listing does not establish support for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. Treat this as a PC-only route unless the mod author documents otherwise.
What to expect from the mod
The SWGRCouch page describes version 0.9.0 as work in progress. It targets as many as four local players, but the author reports testing with two and three. A four-player target is not proof of stable four-player play.

These are issues reported by the mod author, not guarantees that every session will encounter them. Check the current mod listing for updated compatibility notes and installation guidance.

If you want local play on a console, the sources available do not establish a supported split-screen method. If you are on Steam PC and are comfortable installing a mod, SWGRCouch is the documented community option; follow its live listing because technical steps and compatibility can change.
