There is no confirmed release date for the next Star Wars Jedi game, and a 2026 launch has not been announced. EA and Lucasfilm confirmed in 2022 that another game in the series was in development at Respawn, but neither that announcement nor EA’s later portfolio statement set a release window. Reports of Respawn team changes do not establish that the game was cancelled or delayed.
Is Star Wars Jedi 3 coming out in 2026?
It could, but 2026 is speculation, not an official release window. ComicBook.com reported on January 17, 2026 that no release date had been revealed; its discussion of a possible same-year announcement and release was an assumption based on a pattern, not a commitment from EA, Lucasfilm or Respawn. That distinction matters: a possible announcement in 2026 would not by itself confirm that the game also launches that year. Until the publishers give a date or window, there is no reliable basis for treating 2026 as the release year.
What has EA or Lucasfilm officially confirmed?
A new Jedi game was announced in 2022
On January 25, 2022, Lucasfilm said the next title in the Star Wars Jedi franchise was in development at Respawn. The announcement named Stig Asmussen as game director at the time but did not give a title or release window. EA’s 2024 statement prioritized Jedi and Respawn-owned games
On February 28, 2024, EA Entertainment and Technology president Laura Miele said EA was focusing Respawn’s efforts on the Jedi series and Respawn-owned brands, while ending early development on a Star Wars first-person shooter. The statement did not announce a Jedi 3 date or say the Jedi game had been cancelled. Read EA’s statement.
Did the Respawn shakeup affect Jedi 3?
A Reddit post dated April 29, 2025 reposted what it described as a Respawn statement about stepping away from two early-stage incubation projects and making targeted team adjustments across Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi. The repost does not say the next Jedi game was cancelled or delayed, and it is not the studio’s primary post. It therefore cannot confirm what effect, if any, those changes had on the game’s schedule. See the repost.

EA’s 2024 portfolio statement provides separate context: the company said it was prioritizing Jedi after ending early work on a Star Wars FPS. Neither statement supplies a release date.
