The wall breaks and the rising tar gives Cal a route to the far side. This is the initial story-route puzzle while searching for Greez—not the separate, later Derelict Dam puzzles.
Reach the Roller Mine dispenser
- At the tar pit, drop to the lower platform.
- Grapple across to the path on the left, then follow it around to the Roller Mine dispenser.
- Have BD-1 activate the dispenser panel to produce a mine.
- Use Force Pull to pick up the mine and Force Push to throw it at the nearby obstruction. Once it breaks, return to the open area.
The control prompts vary by platform and settings, so follow the on-screen prompts for your version rather than relying on a platform-specific button sequence.

Lower the raised bridge
Let a Roller Mine pursue Cal toward the raised bridge. When it is in position, pick it up with Force Pull and throw it at the bridge. The impact lowers the bridge and opens the next part of the route.
Raise the tar and cross the pit
Bring another pursuing mine toward the tar pit. Position Cal to face the breakable wall on the left, then pick up the mine and throw it at the wall. Its destruction causes the tar level to rise, giving Cal a way to reach the opposite side and continue.

Avoid a premature explosion
Do not Force Pull the mine directly to the wall. Game8 cautions that the mine may explode before reaching the structure if you pull it too close. Let it follow Cal, then pick it up and throw it once you are in position.

The yellow-platform puzzle and elevator-area puzzles are separate from this initial crossing. The yellow-platform puzzle requires Dash, Koboh Grinder, and Lift and Slam, and its listed reward is a Perk Slot. Those abilities are not prerequisites for raising the tar and crossing the pit.
