For smoother performance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PC, first test turning ray tracing off, then lower demanding quality settings one at a time while checking frame pacing and image quality in the same gameplay area. There is no universal best preset: EA publishes the available settings and PC updates, but not setting-by-setting benchmarks or a guaranteed frame rate for every system.
Start with a repeatable performance check
- Choose your target resolution. Use the resolution you actually want to play at, and note how the game feels before changing anything.
- Pick a repeatable gameplay area. Compare the same location and activity after each change. Look for consistent motion and fewer hitches, not just a momentary peak frame rate.
- Change one setting at a time. Keep changes that improve your experience without an image-quality trade-off you dislike; revert changes that do not help.
This is a practical troubleshooting sequence, not an EA-validated preset or a measured recipe for a particular GPU.
Which graphics settings should you adjust first?
Test ray tracing off
Ray tracing is on by default in EA’s documented PC menu. If performance is your priority, switch it off first and compare in the same area. The effect varies with the system, so check your own results rather than assuming a particular improvement. EA’s Patch 9 notes say ray tracing was optimized for CPU usage and “should now scale better for high-end GPUs”; that describes the patch’s intended change, not a benchmark result or a promise for every PC. EA’s PC patch notes also report framerate improvements across hardware configurations and fixes for several sources of hitching.
Lower quality options gradually
If you still need more headroom, try lowering one or more of shadows, visual effects, foliage detail, or view distance. These are available controls, not an officially ranked optimization list; compare both frame pacing and the visual change after each adjustment. EA lists Epic as the default for most quality controls, but those defaults are not performance recommendations. EA’s PC requirements and settings information documents the menu options.

Evaluate FSR and verify resolution scale
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is an upscaling option to evaluate if rendering at your target resolution is a performance concern. Check the resulting image and make sure the resolution scale is where you expect after changing FSR or a quality preset. EA documented a past issue in which lowering visual settings with FSR disabled could incorrectly lower resolution scale, and its Patch 5 note advised affected players to readjust quality settings. EA’s patch notes describe that fix; the note is historical and does not establish that the issue affects every current setup.
What each PC setting does—and what EA lists by default
EA documents resolution as varying by device. The menu’s documented defaults are useful as a reference, but they are not a recommended configuration for smoother play.

| Setting or group | EA-documented default or options | How to use it for this adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| Window mode | Windowed Full Screen by default; Windowed Full Screen, Fullscreen, and Borderless are listed. | Choose the mode that suits your display setup; the available evidence does not establish one as universally faster. |
| Graphics quality, view distance, shadows, anti-aliasing, textures, visual effects, post-processing, foliage detail | Epic by default for each listed quality control. | Lower individual options gradually if you need more headroom, and judge the image and frame pacing together. |
| Ray tracing | On by default. | Test off first when prioritizing performance. |
| AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution | Disabled by default. | Evaluate it as an upscaling option and verify resolution scale afterward. |
| VSync | On by default. | Its best setting depends on your display and preferences; the cited EA material does not quantify a universal performance benefit from changing it. |
| Field of view | Default by default. | Adjust for preference; the cited EA material does not establish a performance ranking. |
| Motion blur, film grain, chromatic aberration | On by default for each. | Change these for visual comfort or taste. EA’s documented menu information does not quantify their frame-rate effects. |
Check your PC against EA’s published requirements
EA’s support listing, accessed in 2026, specifies the following PC requirements. They describe listed hardware tiers, not expected frame rates at a particular resolution or preset.
| Tier | Operating system | Processor | Memory | Storage | Graphics |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 10 or newer | Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 | 8 GB RAM | 155 GB free space | 8 GB VRAM; Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 580 or better |
| Recommended | Windows 10 or newer | Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 | 16 GB RAM | 155 GB SSD | 8 GB VRAM; Nvidia RTX 2070 or AMD RX 6700 XT or better |
These are EA’s published requirements, not a guarantee of smooth performance on every machine that meets them. They also do not, by themselves, show that a particular reader needs a hardware upgrade. Check the game’s current EA PC requirements for the publisher’s listing.

What the PC patches establish—and what they do not
EA’s October 29, 2024 patch-notes page includes PC Patch 9, which reports framerate improvements for various hardware configurations, fixes for several sources of framerate hitching, and ray-tracing optimization for CPU usage. Patch 5 notes discuss content caching and thread handling as well as the resolution-scale issue; Patch 7 lists DLSS support among PC improvements. These notes document publisher-reported changes, not independent measurements or a setting-by-setting comparison. The “solid 60 FPS” statement in Patch 7 concerns console performance mode, not PC performance, so it should not be used as a PC target. Read EA’s patch notes for the platform-specific details.
How to decide whether a change helped
- Frame-rate consistency: Did movement feel steadier in the same area, or did hitching remain?
- Image quality: Did a lower setting make detail, shadows, or effects look worse in a way you notice?
- Output resolution: After changing FSR or quality settings, is the resolution scale still correct?
- System capability: Results depend on the PC’s GPU and CPU, and official requirements alone cannot predict a specific frame rate.
EA’s official materials do not provide current PC benchmark results for each setting. Avoid treating a particular FPS target or combination of options as universal unless it has been tested on the same hardware, resolution, game build, and test area.
