Start by updating Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, then compare your PC with the requirements shown by your storefront. After that, troubleshoot the specific symptom—stuttering, low frame rates, freezing, a crash, or failure to launch—rather than assuming one setting fixes every PC. EA’s Patch 9 notes document targeted performance and crash work, but they do not promise a universal cure.
Check the requirements for your storefront
EA lists the following PC requirements on its current help page. These are screening specifications, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or freedom from configuration-specific problems.
| Specification | Minimum (EA) | Recommended (EA) |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | 64-bit Windows 10 or newer | 64-bit Windows 10 or newer |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-7700 (4 cores, 8 threads) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 | Intel Core i5-11600K (4 cores, 8 threads) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 580, with 8 GB VRAM | GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 6700 XT, with 8 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 155 GB free space | SSD with 155 GB free space |
EA’s recommended CPU list is unusual: it pairs the Core i5-11600K with Ryzen 5 1400. Steam lists Ryzen 5 5600X for its recommended AMD CPU instead. Check the live requirements for the storefront where you own the game rather than treating those differing recommendations as one settled value. Steam also specifies DirectX 12 and broadband internet.
EA lists PC availability through the EA app, Steam, and Epic. Meeting a published requirement does not establish that a given configuration will run smoothly; the official requirement pages do not provide benchmarks or a guaranteed FPS target. EA’s PC requirements and the Steam listing are the relevant references.

Update first, then identify the symptom
- Install available game updates. EA has published PC performance and crash fixes in patches, so confirm the installed build is current before testing changes.
- Note where and when the issue happens. Record whether it is uneven frame pacing, consistently low FPS, a freeze, a crash to desktop, or failure to launch—and whether the same location or action triggers it.
- Check your launcher and setup. Note whether you use the EA app, Steam, or Epic, and compare your CPU, GPU and VRAM, RAM, and free storage with that storefront’s current listing.
- Change one thing at a time. Retest the same location or action after each adjustment so you can tell whether it changed the symptom.
If the game stutters or frame rates are uneven
EA’s Patch 9 announcement says the update included frame-rate improvements for various hardware configurations and fixes for several sources of frame-rate hitching. It also says EA optimized the game’s file-optimization screen to use multiple CPU cores. These are descriptions of patch changes, not controlled before-and-after measurements or a guarantee that every stutter is fixed.
Test ray tracing as a reversible diagnostic
Patch 9 specifically addressed ray-tracing CPU usage and performance scaling with high-end GPUs. If your problem appears tied to ray tracing, try turning it off, then repeat the same scene or action. Treat that as a diagnostic comparison, not a guaranteed fix or an EA-mandated setting.
Test mouse input if it coincides with the problem
EA also listed performance fixes related to using a mouse as gameplay input. If stuttering occurs during mouse-controlled gameplay, compare the same situation with an alternate input device, if available. This is a reversible test; the patch note does not establish that mouse input causes every player’s performance issue.

If FPS stays low
Compare your CPU and GPU, including VRAM, with the live requirements for your storefront, and check that the game has the listed free storage available. EA recommends 16 GB RAM and an SSD; those are the published recommended specifications, not proof that adding memory or buying an SSD will resolve a particular performance problem. The official pages provide no measured FPS targets or upgrade threshold.

If your PC meets the listed specifications, that still does not identify the cause of low FPS. Use repeatable comparisons—such as the same scene before and after one reversible setting change—and avoid drawing conclusions from a single moment of gameplay.
If the game freezes, crashes, or will not launch
EA says Patch 9 included fixes for “various, intermittent crashes”; Patch 7 also announced various crash fixes. Those notes show that crash work was included, not that every crash was resolved. For a crash, freeze, launcher issue, or DirectX error, use EA’s PC crashing and freezing guidance or DirectX troubleshooting resource, as appropriate. These official pages are the next step for general PC and graphics-API problems.

What the patch history establishes
Patch 9 was described by EA community manager EA_Vendcera as follows: “This patch focuses primarily on performance and quality of life improvements for the PC version of the game.” Its listed PC changes include:
- Frame-rate improvements for various hardware configurations.
- Fixes for several sources of frame-rate hitching.
- Ray-tracing optimization for CPU usage and scaling with high-end GPUs.
- Performance fixes related to mouse gameplay input.
- Fixes for various intermittent crashes.
- Optimization of the “Optimizing Game Files” screen to take advantage of multiple CPU cores.
Patch 7’s official announcement also described additional PC optimization and performance improvements, DLSS support, and various crash fixes. That is useful historical context, but neither announcement supplies controlled benchmark results or proves a specific gain on your PC. See EA’s Patch 9 notes and Patch 7 announcement.
