Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteOn the standard PS5, choose Performance mode if smoother combat and responsive controls matter most; choose Quality mode if you prefer a more detailed image and accept a 30-fps target. The available settings guidance centers on that mode choice: it does not establish a separate recipe of adjustable resolution, sharpness, or HDR sliders.
Which mode should you use on the standard PS5?
The trade-off is motion versus image detail. PSFoundry reports a 60-fps target at 1440p for Performance mode and a 30-fps target at 4K for Quality mode. These are reported targets, not guarantees of an exact frame rate in every scene.
| Mode | Reported target | Choose it if |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | 60 fps at 1440p, as reported by PSFoundry | You prefer smoother motion and responsive-feeling combat. |
| Quality | 30 fps at 4K, as reported by PSFoundry | You prioritize image detail and are comfortable with a lower frame-rate target. |
For most players focused on combat, Performance is the practical starting point. Switch to Quality if you prefer its image presentation and find the lower frame rate acceptable.
What Patch 7 changed on PS5
Electronic Arts says Patch 7 “completely reworked” Performance mode with GPU and CPU optimizations and disabled ray tracing in that mode. EA described it as delivering a solid 60 FPS, but that is the patch note’s characterization rather than a guarantee that every gameplay scene holds exactly 60 fps. EA also says Quality mode was optimized to reduce frame-rate fluctuation and that PS5 Variable Refresh Rate support was added. Read EA’s official patch notes.

EA states: “Cinematics in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on console are locked to 30 frames per second.” A gameplay mode’s frame-rate target therefore does not describe the cinematic sequences.
PS5 Pro settings are different
Do not apply the standard-PS5 figures or feature descriptions to PS5 Pro. EA says the Pro version’s Performance mode targets 60 fps, runs at 1800p upscaled from 1200p, and adds ray-traced occlusion and reflections. For Pro Quality mode, PSFoundry reports a 30-fps/4K target. These remain reported targets rather than a scene-by-scene guarantee.

There have been Pro-specific visual fixes since launch. EA’s PS5 Patch 10, dated January 15, 2025, updated to a newer PSSR version, reduced foliage flickering, improved reflections on the Koboh river, and reduced flickering in volumetric fog. Earlier reports of PSSR artifacts should be read in that patch context; the available sources do not provide a new independent comparison of every scene after the update. EA’s patch history and its PS5 Pro announcement describe the changes and Pro features.

EA’s PS5 Gameplay Settings reference lists several gameplay and accessibility options. They can be adjusted to suit how you play, but EA does not describe them as graphics-performance controls.
