Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based squad tactics game set during the twilight of the Clone Wars. As of October 13, 2026, EA lists it for PC through the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store, plus PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. What is Star Wars Zero Company?
Star Wars Zero Company is an original, story-driven tactics game from EA and Bit Reactor. You play Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company, a squad assembled from unconventional professionals. The campaign combines turn-based battles with investigations, squad development and character relationships.
The setting is the twilight of the Clone Wars. Republic Intelligence recruits Hawks and the team to oppose the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned cult led by Kundri Fathom. Their objective is to prevent the Shadow Plague from consuming the galaxy. Between operations, the squad uses an operational base called The Den to prepare for missions and build relationships.

EA describes the game as a single-player experience built around recruiting and customizing operators, planning their positioning and actions, and progressing through a campaign rather than competing against other players.
What platforms can I play Star Wars Zero Company on?
EA’s current FAQ lists five supported platform routes: three PC storefronts and two current-generation console families.

There is no PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch version identified in EA’s current platform information. If you own an older console, do not assume the game is available through backward compatibility; the listed console versions are specifically for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is Star Wars Zero Company single-player or multiplayer?
It is single-player. EA says Zero Company does not include online multiplayer, competitive modes, online co-op, local co-op, split-screen co-op or other online social features. The campaign is designed for one person controlling Hawks and the squad.
That structure affects what you should expect from the game. There is no partner taking control of another operator, no versus ladder and no mission matchmaking. Your decisions about squad composition, positioning and abilities are the central challenge.

An internet connection is not listed as a gameplay requirement in the PC system requirements. EA notes that a connection may still be needed to download the game, install updates or use features required by a particular platform. Offline play therefore depends on completing those setup and platform steps first; it should not be read as a promise that every storefront feature works without an account or connection.

How does the turn-based combat work?
Choose an operator’s action, then resolve it
The official StarWars.com guide describes a deliberate sequence: choose an operator’s action, see the result, and then the opponent takes a turn. This is not a real-time action system in which you continuously aim, dodge and attack. You make a decision, observe its outcome and plan around the enemy response.
Manage health points and three action points
Each operator has health points and three action points. Those points can be spent on movement, attacks or abilities. A turn might therefore involve moving into a safer position, firing at a target or using a special ability, depending on the situation and the operator’s available options.
Because movement and abilities draw from the same action-point economy, a strong plan is usually more than simply attacking the nearest enemy. You may need to preserve health, occupy useful cover, set up a better angle or spend points on an ability that helps the rest of the squad. The game’s appeal comes from weighing those choices before the opposing turn.
Positioning matters as much as firepower
EA presents positioning and planning as core parts of every tactical encounter. Operators are recruited and customized for upcoming operations, so the team you bring and where you place its members both matter. A carefully prepared squad can approach a fight differently from a group chosen without regard to abilities or mission needs.
Expect investigation as well as battles
The campaign is not described as a sequence of disconnected skirmishes. EA includes tactical operations and investigations, with story progress linking the two. Combat decisions sit inside a broader campaign in which you prepare the squad, pursue the larger threat and return to the base between missions.

What do recruiting, customization and relationships do?
Recruit and customize operators
Hawks leads a group of specialists rather than a fixed, unchanging roster. You recruit squad members and customize them as the campaign develops. Those choices let you shape a team for the battles ahead instead of relying on a single hero with a predetermined toolkit.
Build relationships at The Den
Between missions, the squad spends time at The Den, the operational base. EA says players can build relationships there and that those relationships can affect gameplay. The social layer is therefore connected to tactical preparation: squad bonds are not presented as purely decorative dialogue scenes.
Plan around team synergy
Customization and relationships complement the action-point system. You are managing a group whose operators have different options, health totals and abilities, then deciding how those people work together in a specific operation. The result is a campaign loop of recruit, customize, prepare, fight, investigate and develop the team further.
How is Star Wars Zero Company different from other Star Wars games?
The clearest difference is its format. Zero Company is a turn-based squad tactics campaign, not a real-time action game. You do not spend missions continuously controlling one character while events unfold around you; you issue planned actions to operators, resolve them and respond to the opponent’s turn.
It also tells an original story in a less familiar corner of the Clone Wars. The campaign centers on the Infinite Coil, Kundri Fathom and the Shadow Plague, rather than presenting a retelling of a film scene. Republic Intelligence, investigations, The Den and squad relationships give the campaign a structure beyond combat encounters.
That makes the game a better fit for players who enjoy planning, positioning, character development and a measured pace. Someone looking primarily for fast reflex combat or a multiplayer Star Wars match should understand that those are not the modes EA lists for this title.

At launch, Bit Reactor Game Director and CEO Greg Foertsch said, “After all these years of hard work from our amazing team, Star Wars Zero Company is a go for launch.” Lucasfilm Games Vice President and General Manager Douglas Reilly called it “a deep, tactical experience set in the darker corners of the Clone Wars.” Both statements are promotional descriptions of the project, not independent performance assessments.
What is the story premise?
Hawks is a former Republic officer recruited by Republic Intelligence to lead Zero Company. The group’s target is the Infinite Coil, a cult aligned with the Separatists. Its leader, Kundri Fathom, is connected to a plan involving the Shadow Plague, a threat EA describes as capable of consuming the galaxy.
The campaign takes place during the Clone Wars’ twilight, giving it a setting shaped by a conflict approaching its end rather than a later period of the Star Wars timeline. Missions combine tactical operations with investigations, while the squad’s relationships and work at The Den provide continuity between deployments.
How long does it take to complete Star Wars Zero Company?
EA estimates that most players will need around 30 to 40 hours to complete the main story campaign. This is Electronic Arts’ 2026 publisher estimate, not an independently measured average.
Actual time can vary with difficulty and with your experience of turn-based tactics. A newcomer may spend longer learning the action-point system, reading enemy situations and retrying difficult encounters. Players who already understand squad tactics may move more quickly. The 30-to-40-hour figure applies to the main campaign; it should not be treated as a guaranteed total for every optional activity or a fixed completion time for every play style.

EA’s support FAQ lists Standard and Deluxe editions. Both include the base game; Deluxe adds cosmetic content and weapon themes.

The Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition figures are launch-announcement suggested retail prices, not verified current offers. Physical Standard Edition copies are the format EA specifically identifies for selected PS5 and Xbox Series X|S retailers. The available information does not establish a universal physical release for PC or guaranteed stock at a particular retailer.
Is it approachable if I have never played a tactics game?
StarWars.com says tutorials and on-screen tips introduce the game’s systems to tactics newcomers. It also says difficulty can be adjusted outside combat. Those features make the game more approachable than a title that expects you to understand action points, positioning and squad abilities without explanation.

Approachable does not mean consequence-free. You still need to watch health points, decide how to spend three action points and anticipate the opponent’s response. If a mission feels too demanding, adjust the difficulty outside combat and use the tutorials and on-screen guidance to learn the systems rather than treating every failed encounter as a need to restart the campaign.
Which version should you choose?
- Choose PC if you want to use the EA app, Steam or Epic Games Store and already play primarily on a computer.
- Choose PS5 or Xbox Series X|S if you prefer a console and want the currently listed current-generation versions.
- Choose Standard if you only need the base campaign and do not value cosmetic additions.
- Choose Deluxe if the listed cosmetic content and weapon themes justify its additional launch SRP for you; verify the current store price first.
- Consider the Collector’s Edition only if its physical items, including the Thermal Detonator replica, Steelbook and desk mat, are important to you and the edition is available in your region.
Whichever platform or edition you select, the core game is the same single-player tactical campaign: recruit and customize operators, plan turns, investigate the Infinite Coil and develop the squad through the Clone Wars’ final phase.

Star Wars Zero Company is for players who want a solo campaign built around deliberate squad decisions rather than real-time combat or multiplayer competition.
