Yes—Xbox announced that StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II: Campaign Collection would join PC Game Pass on November 5, 2024. The announcement named PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate; that arrival date has passed, so check the current catalog for availability in your region before subscribing or expecting access.
When did StarCraft come to PC Game Pass?
Xbox announced the addition on September 26, 2024, then listed both packages in its October 15 catalog update with a November 5, 2024 availability date. The announcement was specifically for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, not a blanket promise covering every Game Pass plan. Xbox’s September announcement and October catalog listing document those details.

What does each Game Pass package include?
| Package | What it covers | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| StarCraft: Remastered | The original StarCraft and its Brood War expansion, presented with updated graphics and audio. Blizzard describes the remaster as having 4K graphics and enhanced sound while leaving the gameplay unchanged. | Players who want the original game’s campaign and classic real-time strategy experience. |
| StarCraft II: Campaign Collection | Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, Legacy of the Void, and Nova Covert Ops. | Players looking for the StarCraft II story campaigns. |
The contents of the Campaign Collection are listed in Xbox’s catalog post. Blizzard’s description of the remaster is on its launch page.
Which Game Pass plan was included?
The 2024 announcement named PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate. It did not say that the packages were included with every Game Pass tier. Because subscription names, regional catalogs, and included games can change, confirm the listing for your location and plan in the Xbox app or the current Game Pass catalog before relying on access.

Is StarCraft II free to play?
Xbox said the multiplayer components of the original StarCraft and StarCraft II were free-to-play when it made the announcement. That is separate from the two subscription packages: Game Pass access covered the remastered original and the named StarCraft II campaign collection. The statement about free multiplayer does not mean that every campaign or remastered feature is included free of charge.
Quick Recap
What to check before trying to play today
- Catalog status: Search for each package in the current PC Game Pass catalog; the 2024 arrival announcement does not establish present-day availability.
- Plan and region: Confirm that your subscription tier and country show the title as included.
- Account requirements: A Battle.net store search-result excerpt has indicated that eligible Game Pass access to StarCraft: Remastered requires linked Battle.net and Xbox accounts. Since the underlying page was not available to verify that instruction, check the current Xbox or Battle.net listing for the applicable account steps rather than assuming they apply universally.
